I finally found a store near my house, that sells a wonderful and very robust switch, that I managed to squeeze inside the original switch assembly. So my switch problems are finally solved. I also managed to repair my 901 adapter which was causing a short circuit and killing the switches and attys...So I finally resuscitated my Prodigy.

And since for some reason, I had 2 Prodigies, then inspired by the model that BrockJ showed earlier, I thought it would be a good idea to transform one Prodigy to a shiny metallic unit.

Some random 800 grit sandpaper ...then...random 1200 grit sandpaper...then random metal polish later...and voila!

Mission accomplished, I thought I would share, so here is the result: (Sorry if the pictures are not very elaborated but i didn't have much time...maybe later i would post some better ones)

Thank you EcA2cE,

I have to say that I was surprised myself by the beauty of the end result, especially that I love the black one too.

Besides, the shiny one gives you a very soft and warm touch feeling that one cannot get on the black unit.

I have to precise that I'm not a techie at all...far far from being one...And it didn't take anything to realize it.

If I did it...then anyone could do it :D

That looks very nice. Is it the exact color as your end cap and adapter?

Yes. The more you polish it you more you get close.

You can also just stop at the 1200 grit sandpaper. It's a very beautiful result too, since you would have a mixture of matte and shiny metallic look.

It's more beautiful if you want my opinion.

I only accidentally shined it, because I didn't really anticipate how much powerful the metal polish was :D

If I knew, I would have left it as it was...hehe...I could easily turn it back again to matte silver later...But for now...I'll enjoy the shiny look.:D

Thanks Steve,Thanks Brock,

Steve, how did you find my improvised switch? It fits perfectly! Can you imagine that just when I was starting to think of sending some to Simon,(hehe) I received an e-mail from him, informing me that the switches are now available? :w00t:

I'm a victim of a conspiracy...Life is unfair...Hahahaha...

Brock, if you're gonna shine the Protege...You absolutely have to post its pictures on the internets.:D

Here are few other pictures of the shiny Prodigy:

Here's a couple of new ones. I was hoping to have my light box in by now but I guess these'll have to do.
I really like the size and look of the PS machine with the Atomz type attys.

Gonna polish the Protege next.

I prefer the blinding shine VS the matte brushed aluminum finish.
You can tell mines been to work with me a few days this week. LOL
I just walked in from work and threw them out on the coffee table.

Thanks Steve.
I made that one about 15 years ago when I was living in Austiin Texas and had friends that were stone cutters.
That thing weighs in around 200+ pounds and is a *&^(%$$ to stub your toe on or walk in to in the middle of the night. It'll peel the meat back all the way to the bone.

I had a bed from the same SandStone but got tired of moving it around.
Sold it to a buddy of mine. He still has it :)
