so today i recieve my much awaiting prodigy v3.1 to replace my ancient dse 901 charge batteries fire it up vapes AMAZING was mindfull to keep atomizer well juiced(not flooded) about 2 hours later (not constant vaping prob a good 2-4 drips 3 times over that 3 hours) hadnt touched it just put batts in when i first got it and my drip tip i redrip push the button and NOTHING. I hit the button few more times nothing no vapor AT ALL couldnt even hear the atomizer coming on. I feel like somehow the switch is the problem but upon inspection it looks normal but it doesnt seem to quite push ALL the way in like 2mm of space. ive swapped batts and all i have no idea wtf happened ive had atomizers die on my old unit but never just from working amazing to NOTHING i didnt let it get to hot or anything.

Any advice? ive emailed puresmoker but im just seeing if anyone else had this issue

It sounds to me like you popped your atomizer. From my experience, atties suffer 2 types of death: old age, where performance gradually deteriorates to unacceptable levels, and sudden death, where they pop and go from awesome performance to stone cold dead with no warning. A multimeter is about the only way to know for sure.

Yup. That's pretty much where I was going with this.
Great minds yada, yada...

when they pop do you feel like a pop when you drag? i had wierd like it felt like popping once or twice its hard to explain

Any I have ever popped have gone with no warning or sound. One second they're working, and the next, nothing. The popping you felt was most likely liquid sizzling off the coil as it was heated up.

You didn't say, but I assume you're using the V3.1 at 6v? If so, here are some tips to help you avoid future premature atty deaths:

1) Don't use the batteries fresh off the charger. ever. When the light on the charger turns green, take them off and let them sit for a few hours so the voltage drops back down to ~3.2v. The LiFePO4s come off the charger ~3.6v or higher. But they quickly drop down to their normal voltage.

2) Pulse the button instead of doing one long continuous hit. For example, instead of a 6-second hit, pulse the button for a 1-2-3 second hit. The experience will be the same, but you won't overtax your atomizer. That pulsing action has just become how I vape. I do it even at 3.7v with cartomizers out of habit.

3) Don't screw your atomizer in too much. Go just until it's snug on the adapter. Overtightening can cause a short.

If you're using 3.7v, then I'm guessing it was just bad luck that caused it to pop.

Yup. That's pretty much where I was going with this.

Yep. Your mention of the multimeter is what caused me to think of an atty blowout. :)

Yes i am using as 6v i will keep mindful and use those tricks as well i have heard they can pop easy but it seems like it did really easy but ive also read it takes a bit to get the hand of! thanks guys!

If you're at 6v you might want to look into some high-resistance attys... personally, I cant use regular attys at 6v... they burn my juice and/or die really quickly. I loveeee Ikenvape High-res attys... thats all I use and they go for months : )
