hi david,

i love my precises and have recently started using the clearomizers on them. except for a couple of minor issues (some of them don't seem to hit as well as others) these are the best cartos i've used yet! my only complaint is that the plastic construction feels pretty flimsy and i don't think they will hold up to some of the activities i do. i'm not looking forward to my first pocket full of e-juice somewhere where water for washing is limited :) however i love the fact that i can see how full they are.

so here is my idea. i would love a simple stainless steel tube that would slide over the clearomizer or other carto / atty and thread into the top of the precise. that way i could unscrew it to check the volume and the rest of the time it would be bulletproof. an added bonus would be the bling factor of an all stainless item regardless of the color of the atty's or cartos underneath.

of course there are other design possibilities like flaring the base to match the width of the precise or integrating with tips, but that's your department :)

thanks,

gerry

Here's another one, I felt left out :p

It's from the middle of a plugless mod instruction thingy I did, which is why the clearo looks weird..

I think a replacement tube would be good, a polished stainless tube with a clear window would look great on the Precise, just ditch the old crappy plastic one and slide the Super T one on :2cool:

OMG yes! If there was a 14500 precise with outer threads for an ego cone... heaven!!! I want a 14500 woth egocone threads so bad I'm at the point of 1. Buying a Icon and looking for someone to lathe threads on it. 2. Going to the local tech college to see if the tool and die kids will make one. 3. Going to a local machine shop to see if they will make me a 1 order type deal (<--- most unlikely) 4. Buy myself a lathe and have at er. I'm so desprate for this. Does super t do any custom work for a premium? Say, $220?

i want one too!! clearomizers are my atty of choice now, b/c i can see what's going on with the wick and burn off the crud easily :)

the only trouble i can see is there isn't any clearance at the base of the clearomizer to screw anything down the precise top hole, and nothing to attach to the bottom of the clearomizer plastic.

air flow is great on the clearomizer with my P18. anything blocking that would be a problem.

my vote is a custom top tank that would fit a Precise that holds about 3-5 ml :vapor:

david - if you want to play with the concept the carto's fit a 3ml BD syringe tube ;)

ps - that's my precise with a reg size carto in my avatar

maz that is very cool. did you post a tutorial or parts list? i really like that. no leaks? very nice!

Hi Juicefreak

It will leak if you leave it like in that picture, the whole thing can be found here No plug (or doughnut) 'mod' for Clearomizers - UK Vapers

It's only a quick n' dirty guide, I did it in an hour I had spare. The method works well though, if you get it right you will have no leaks at all. The only thing I'd add to it is to cut the wicks so that they sit flush with the bottom of the clearo tank, that way they don't bunch up which can occasionally interfere with filling. No parts list, all you really need is a drip tip and scissors/knife. The tip pictured is just a stainless shorty traditional style (not Super T) that I ground down and polished. I removed the O ring because it wouldn't fit the clearo otherwise, it's tight enough without it..

In the pics you posted, I get that it's a syringe but is it stuck over a clearo or a cut-down CE2? If it's a clearo what type syringe is it? I'm finding the guts outlast the tube by quite a while and want a sturdier replacement, I just need to know the right syringe to get..

Cheers..

thx for the info maz. my modded tank is just a BD syringe. not sure what country you are in, but this should help:

BD Locations Online

You could prob get one at a pharmacy. Just tell them you want syringe tubes for a project, without the needle ;)

my avatar is a shorty (reg) CE2. doesn't hold much juice that's for sure, but it's fine. I think the shorties give a better hit than the XL's. more wick in a shorter space i guess?

the BD fits great, but you have to take off the silicone washer at the bottom of the Clearo battery connector. At least I did, or it squirts out the bottom when i tamp the syringe tube down and it's like putting toothpaste back in a tube to get it to stay. pita. not needed so just remove it and give it a good tamp down and you should be good to go. Feed the CE2 from the bottom of the tube.

you're right - very durable and little hassle. it gives the wick more room to breath so it vapes nice. I'd still love david to fabricate something if he thinks it will sell, because the weakness is still that the tube can come off. I've lost more juice with clearo's than i care to count. Something stable at the base where you could lift it out of your pocket and not have juice everywhere would be great.

thx again maz. going to check out your thread now.

nice instructions maz! thank you. i like the way you fluffed up the wick to cover the entire outside of the cup. i see you like the regs also. those XL's hold a bit more juice, but don't vape as well. a short stocky tank the same diameter as the Precise with a reg CE2 guts would hold about 2.5-3ml's and still give a great hit with all that wick in there.

btw, my shorty is just a reg CE2 fluxo. I didn't cut the air pipe at all.

yeah i've seen those map tanks, but i'd want a shorter one myself and a little less industrial looking. I'd hate to lose 5ml in my pocket. looks nice on your P16 though.

david could make them shorter to fit a CE reg and not quite as wide as the map tank, with stainless and i'd be sold. even an XL if that's what he decided = i'd buy. The problem with the map tanks is the guts are $4.99 each to replace, because the rods on the CE2 are cut to fit the Map tank. Something that fits a stock CE2 guts would be perfect.
