This seemed like an appropriate place to ask, hopefully some vets can help me out.
I'm using a Joye 510 model with Tasty Vapor's kretek liquid (24mg, 10% vg) on one atomizer. This juice is very dark and heavy and dirties up my atomizer very heavily and very quickly. The coil becomes a dark brown color, the same as the liquid. Underneath the coil, brown, burned spots can be seen due to burned up juice. I mean, this thing gets REALLY clogged up, and it definitely affects the performance.
What I'm looking for is a good method for cleaning my atomizer and getting all of that out of there. The quicker this is, the better, but I'll be happy as long as my atomizer is clean again. Here is the current method I use, usually daily or every other day.
1. Blow out atomizer and then rinse in water for a few seconds.
2. Fill cup with hot water, let atomizer sit in it for ~5 minutes.
3. Blow out atomizer again.
4. Re-attach the battery and bring the atomizer to red heat.
5. Slowly drip hydrogen peroxide into the atty at red heat.
6. After a few drips, rinse the atomizer with hot water.
7. Blow out atomizer, dry it by heating it up using the battery again.
After this, the atomizer coil usually looks nice and white (or whiter than it did, at least) but its really dry, so it's performance is very poor for a little while and I have to drip 6 drops sometimes to get the taste.
For some reason I have a feeling this is a very bad idea. Heating the atomizer like that will probably kill it prematurely. If anybody has a good cleaning method for me, I would definitely appreciate it.
By the way, I'm using hydrogen peroxide because its the only thing I have in the house that I heard works well for atomizer cleaning.
