Proper care and feeding of atomizers?

I bought some Super-Cigarettes and after 2 days, both atomizers are dead.

Did I kill them? The only thing I can think is that a few times I inadvertently covered the holes and they got real warm, could that have done it?

Speaking of which, I saw a video here of some guy comparing the mini and the pen and he covered one of the holes on the mini to produce more smoke (vapor). Would that harm the atomizer?

Is there a list of does and don't when it comes to atomizers?

BTW, I contacted TheIndoorCigarette, where I got them and they said they are sending out 2 more, free of charge.

I'm back on the patch until my new ones come in, hopefully tomorrow.

Can't help you too much since i still consider myself very much a newbie at this but here is my experiences so far.
When i first got mine (i'm on day 7) i was always covering up the hole by accident. Have gotten used to holding it now and not doing that anymore. One atomizer has died off some but one is still going good.

Have you tried blowing through from the battery end to see if they are clogged some?

Also check out this post on cleaning atomizers. Could be worth a try.

If you do try cleaning by boiling, remember they may take a quite a few drips and good puffs to get going again.

Good luck !!

Yeh, I did actually read that post. I cleaned first by blowing by mouth (the battery end) and was able to get one puff. Then I read the post and used my air compressor at 120psi, then read further and used the canned air, all to no avail.

It does seem that most everyone is new at this. I hope this catches on and we get some top quality product in the near future.

Meanwhile, it's much smarter that what has been coined as "Analog" cigarettes!

Hi Paul,
welcome!
After killing at least 5 atomizers , I know that you're never to smoke an atomizer "dry" - which is why many top with e-juice (a few drops) often..every 30-50 puffs depending on how hard you draw.
Also, sometimes a battery can kill them - if the Led light stays on constant then it's in the process of overheating the atomizer to death..
You shouldn't have to be cleaning them after 2 days unless the e-liquid is the culprit..
As far as the holes, accidentally covering them once in ahwile shouldn't kill them cause like you say some people do that on regular basis to get a harder throat hit..
You're definitly right though - there should be a list of do's & don't's for us beginners !
Hope you get your new atomizers soon & happy vaping!
