This is just great, NOT. So this link says that monkies and rats gained weight when inhaling Propylene Glycol

TESTS FOR THE CHRONIC TOXICITY OF PROPYLEXE GLYCOL AND TRIETHYLENE GLYCOL ON MONKEYS AND RATS BY VAPOR INHALATION AND ORAL ADMINISTRATION

I am testing out higher levels of PG because it seems I breakout in a ton of acne with VG. I must say i have gained weight and so much that i think i am getting back boobies. I will be fair though that my appetite has increased. So i am uping the water intake a lot and watching what i eat.

Anyone else out there that vapes high PG and gaining or better yet losing weight?

I am losing weight rapidly and have been wanting to post in that thread as well. I have not been eating. I have been vaping like a mythical beast though. I am sorry that these chemicals have such profound reaction in your body. You have to really monitor your intakes and health as you go forward. Most of my smoke juice has been 60/40. I have moved to organic with purportedly 0/PG. I know, some say 0/pg is impossible...whatever. I am now vaping 100% VG and still going strong....

The doses administered represented 50 to 700 times the amount of glycol the animal could absorb by breathing air saturated with the glycol.
Examination at autopsy likewise failed to reveal any differences between the animals kept in glycolized air and those living in the ordinary room atmosphere. Extensive histological study of the lungs was made to ascertain whether the glycol had produced any generalized or local irritation. None was found. The kidneys, liver, spleen and bone marrow also were normal.

The results of these experiments in conjunction with the absence of any observed ill effects in patients exposed to both triethylene glycol and propylene glycol vapors for months at a time, provide assurance that air containing these vapors in amounts up to the saturation point is completely harmless.

I'm concerned about my weight loss since I started vaping. I've lost close to 10 lbs in 6 months.

My eating habits haven't changed significantly. It could be that I'm ingesting more nic, I never considered the PG/VG factor. I use Halo liquid, I'm not certain about the ratio of their products.

I've also noticed that my workouts are getting more difficult to sustain, I think that may be playing a part in my weight loss. All of this is causing me alarm and some doubt about how "healthy" vaping really is, just saying...

From what i have read Halo will not disclose their levels of mix. But i am reading people believe it has a higher PG. As for weight loss you are having i have also read that people are vaping more and not eating junk foods as much and they are losing weight. Even if you started to drink more water than you did before vaping may be the reason you have lost 10 pounds.

When I first started Vaping all I used were high PG e-liquids. I had found a deal with a China vender I got gear from. Averaged $1 per 10ml bottle in Dekang and Hangsen. Both Brands were 80/20. Still trying to get through the last of them. $60 bought a LOT of e-liquids and then I started shopping US juices.
Now I DIY and all my liquids are 50/50
No weight changed directly from Vaping.

I'm not a doctor.

I've never read anything that indicated to me that weight gain or loss was attributable to vaping and/or mix of juice ingredients. I've been vaping for over 2 years and it has never happened to me. I started vaping the usual 70/30 PG/VG, went up to almost 90% VG over a bit more than a year and am now at 60% VG.

Too much PG irritates my throat.

I got 8 pb sense i started. But it for sure not vaping. Simple, after i quit smoke, everything taste so gooooood and my hubby buys to much snack-junk stuff.
Now i'm going on total control, not vaping, weight what i got effecting my heals for sure.
Water helps a lot for any type of diet, and if you didn't change your eating hobbits i don't see any weight coming on.

I smoke all PG and have been for over a year. As a type 1 diabetic (and a woman in her 30s) I am careful about my weight (not obsessive, just conscientious). I haven't gained or lost a significant amount AT ALL since vaping all PG. I may have lost one or two lbs when starting to vape 3 yrs ago, but other than that no change. There are many factors that cause weight gain. If you're concerned about it I would suggest you start taking a mindful look at the amount of calories you are eating in a day, and maybe the quality and types of foods you are eating. Weight loss can be made with mindful, step-by-step approaches (this leads to lasting weight loss, not a quick fix "fad" diet).

So you have lost less than 2 pounds a month in 6 months. That is not a drastic thing at all.

I doubt you are gaining weight from Vaping. Maybe form a better appetite or worse diet.
I'd suggest re-reading that pretty much worthless study.

What planet has a High Glycol atmosphere? Continuously subjected, up to 700x - Really?

ermm, would that be Planet of the (V)Apes ??? perhaps...

From what I have always remembered , one of the most common side effects when you stop smoking is weight gain, so most likely the gain would have happened weather you quit through a patch, nic gum, or cold turkey.

Another thing for the loss of appetite is the fact that stimulants such as nicotine, do suppress the appetite. Many models or model wanna be , purposely smoke and drink coffee to help keep them thin. Most over eating is due to anxiety (me) and smoking or vaping helps by keeping our hands busy and psychologically "calms" us down.

SO many of the negative side effects people post about vaping are the same side effects from simple quitting smoking. These can manifest right away, or show up weeks or months later and last for a few days to even a year. There are many great FAQs available here on ECF in regards to what happens when you quit smoking/ start vaping.

Well thats odd, I went to the FAQs and new members area and cant find those great articles that explained all that..... Odd why would ECF get rid of those?
