From what i have read Halo will not disclose their levels of mix. But i am reading people believe it has a higher PG. As for weight loss you are having i have also read that people are vaping more and not eating junk foods as much and they are losing weight. Even if you started to drink more water than you did before vaping may be the reason you have lost 10 pounds.

Thanks for the reply. I am drinking alot more water, and I've never eaten much junk food anyway. As I said, my eating habits are about the same (I think.) My concern is that my weight loss seems to be muscular, and not fat. I guess that I could attribute it to the fact that I'm 52 and probably on the downswing of my testosterone which is causing both my workout troubles and loss of muscular weight.

I asked halo once and they said their liquids have higher pg than vg. I suspect it's 80pg/20vg

hmmm, I've gained weight........
but wait, I am pretty sure it's because I eat too much food! :)

One commonality is the fact that each and every one of us is very different. Another is the fact that we're all creatures of habit and usually when we find something that we like, we tend to forget the most basic and important trait we should all adhere to...MODERATION! Absolutely anything and everything in excess is harmful...even water (the most basic necessity of all known life)...don't believe me?? Look up hyponatremia...happens to marathon runners when they drink too much water and flush too much of their sodium and electrolytes...often fatal!

I chewed nicotine gum and smoked cigs when I didnt chew for a long time. Then there was a report nic gum chewers would lose hair. I never lost a strand of hair from chewing nic gum.

So PG causes wieght gain eh?

Cant remember if i got the name right but i think poly saturated fats contain nickel or some metal ion, which is why a lot of chips have changed. <<<<< that is a baddie. There are lots of baddies for weight gain. The correct answer is around 5-6 calories per ml. in ejuice, you can google up the question "calories vg pg" and ECF has some other threads on the topic. One of threads points out that even that is suspect, obviously- since much of it is vape which is exhaled.

Of course there is a remedy for weight gain, its known as exercise.

but if its true that PG causes weight gain, ( I aint a believer yet, maybe the officcceth of dissseasses and controleth is involved-because of the timing of mentioning this old study ) how come there is so many pretty looking woman here at ECF? (cookies cookies anyone?)

I think that would be a much more likely cause of your weight loss. Which like I posted above is not drastic at all.

I am losing weight rapidly and have been wanting to post in that thread as well. I have not been eating. I have been vaping like a mythical beast though. I am sorry that these chemicals have such profound reaction in your body. You have to really monitor your intakes and health as you go forward. Most of my smoke juice has been 60/40. I have moved to organic with purportedly 0/PG. I know, some say 0/pg is impossible...whatever. I am now vaping 100% VG and still going strong....

Heather's Heavenly Vapes has a "Purity" line that has NO PG in it. The flavors they use in this line are pg free. When those guys say it's impossible, they're thinking about the flavors with pg in them, thus, even if you use 100% vg, then put those flavors in the mix, you've got pg in the juice. Check out that sub-forum and then go to the site. These guys are champions.

From what I have always remembered , one of the most common side effects when you stop smoking is weight gain, so most likely the gain would have happened weather you quit through a patch, nic gum, or cold turkey.

Another thing for the loss of appetite is the fact that stimulants such as nicotine, do suppress the appetite. Many models or model wanna be , purposely smoke and drink coffee to help keep them thin. Most over eating is due to anxiety (me) and smoking or vaping helps by keeping our hands busy and psychologically "calms" us down.

SO many of the negative side effects people post about vaping are the same side effects from simple quitting smoking. These can manifest right away, or show up weeks or months later and last for a few days to even a year. There are many great FAQs available here on ECF in regards to what happens when you quit smoking/ start vaping.

Well thats odd, I went to the FAQs and new members area and cant find those great articles that explained all that..... Odd why would ECF get rid of those?

This, or something different?

I think many who gain weight are probably hydrating with soda or energy drinks...
When I started my healthy living plan 2 years ago, I cut out sodas and sugary drinks completely and rapidly started losing weight- along with a proper diet and exercise...

I don't drink soda or energy drinks. I use to be a big coffee drinker but I only have one cup now and water all day. But I do like potato chips :) I have stopped eating those and hoping to see some weight loss now with exercising more too.

I must say i have gained weight and so much that i think i am getting back boobies. I will be fair though that my appetite has increased. So i am uping the water intake a lot and watching what i eat.

Have you had your thyroid tested lately?

A large weight gain, w/out either a vast increase in calories along w/a decrease in physical activity to burn them off, would be pretty impossible unless there is some kind of metabolic things going on.

Really, get a checkup. :)
