Pro's and Con's of 5v, 6v and which model to start with?

Hey,

I currently have a 901 and a smoke 51, and looking to get the ego or riva. But i keep on hearing that 5v and up is the way to go. Can somone tell the pro's and con's of them compaired to the 3.5v PV? And a good model to start out on myself. Perferably a reliable and good for a newbie to them.

There a good listing of 5v PVs available in the thread shown below. Higher voltage can give more throat hit and vapor. Also, some feel that juice tastes better at around 4.5 to 5 volts. That is very subjective though and depends on the juice itself.

If you're doing well with the stock 901, you will do fantastic with the ego, etc., due to the increase in the batteries ability to operate the atomizer at 3.7V, and the increase in the length of time between battery changes.

If you move up to high-voltage, the main benefit is increased heat, throat-hit and vapor production. It comes with it's disadvantages, as well: atomizers don't last as long (I've had some only last 2 days), and the flavor is changed radically, many say for the worse. To mitigate these two factors, there is a gigantic can of worms you will have to open and become familiar with. If you thought there was a learning curve to learn 3.7 Volt "stock" vaping, you aint seen nuthin' yet!

ok lol so which model do you recommend i start out learning with? if i get it and end up not liking 5v oh well just be a backup.

If you want to try 5v the cheapest way would be to get a usb powered passthrough.

GGTS, with the Pass through option, Great Mod and this way you can vape everything from 3.7-7.4, all done..!!

Yes, a passthrough is a great suggestion for starters. An eGo with LR atty is good too.

You could hop over to ken's box mods, he has a 5v regulated 3AA sized battery box mod at this link: Box Mod As for me its all about the GG with an AFS at 6v with a 510 atty, although I am starting to like the 901 type as well, cartos just burn up at 6-7.4v...

As for the LR attys, I'm not exactly sold on them, they seem to die way too fast on my eGo, and thats operating at 3.2v last time I checked a fully charged battery.

cool hey thanks guys. ill probably end up just getting the box mod or the spark plug, I hear its pretty good too. Hopefully these will feep me from the analoge.

The "Buzz" Vari Volt is the only way to go. Set your voltage anywhere from 3.7V to 6.0V. Consistent from first puff until batteries go dead.
