Low resistance cartomizers will provide a warmer vapor, while standard resistance cartos will provide a more cooler vapor. It just depends upon personal preference on which ones people like.

In my experience, low resistance cartos will have a shorter life expectancy (the coils burn hotter), and will be more likely to burn the wicking material if you don't keep them topped off with more e-liquid. They also drain your battery a little faster because they draw more current than standard resistance.

Low resistance cartos were designed primarily for people using a fixed voltage, or non-variable voltage battery to simulate the higher voltages that a variable voltage battery could provide. Generally, most people will use a standard or even a high resistance cartomizer if using a variable voltage battery because the coil has a much wider range of voltage settings that it can use than a low resistance carto can use.

There are also dual coil cartomizers, which means there is a second coil above the first. The problem with this is if you don't keep the wick topped off with e-liquid, the top coil can burn the dry wick and cause the wick to burn. Once the wick is burnt, you will never get the burnt taste out and the carto is ruined.
