Hi guys. I just started vaping about a month ago to quit using snuff and cigs. The problem is that since I was use to a high level of nic on a constant basis, I vape like a freight train. I'm on 24mg juice, lol.

Anyways. I'm using a protank 2 I bought about a week and a half ago. And I've already burned through the two attys that come with it. My lavatube is usually set at 3.2-3.6v and the two attys were 2.0 and 2.5 ohms, so I'm not overloading them, just overusing them. Could there be a better technique to vaping that might help prolong the attys? Short frequent drags or slow long drags. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hi Anthal. Welcome to the ECF. Sooooo I have the same basic issue as you with those heads. The protank heads seem to need a good cleaning and dry burn about every couple days. I have long since moved to a lower nic liquid, but I still use about 8ml of liquid per day. Crack those heads apart and give them a good rinse/blow/dry burn until all the old built-up gunk is burned off and they will be good to go. I normally use a small kitchen torch to burn the top two wicks that lay on the top of the coil seperately. This way when I reassemble the head it is good to go for another couple days. Good Luck. happy Vaping.

Short cut tip that works for me. Remove the top post from the coil head, remove the flavor wick and dispose, soak the coil in water, dry burn, replace flavor wick with boiled and dried cotton "cotton balls", reassemble. It dose take some trial and error to figure out how much cotton but IMO its worth it.

When rinsing, is it a PGA rinse? I'll have I watch more vids. Lol. I've got a shop here in town selling new heads for 3 bucks a pop, but rebuilding/cleaning will keep my idle hands outta trouble. :)

Discountvapers have these for a little less than $6 a 5 pack.... Stock up, save your old ones and then clean and dry burn them. You can probably get more use out of most of them.

I was just thinking about this topic yesterday. Glad I havent thrown out my old ones. Gonna try my hand at cleaning them.

Thanks!

If they were used hard the dry burn may take some time. I have about 20 so once a month I rebuild them all and swap regularly.

its not hard to rebuild the coils. i use 32ga kanthal A1. i discard the silica wicks and use sterile organic cotton and do not use any flavor wicks. seems to run better than stock coils. it cost pennies to do this compared to buying new ones. watch some youtube videos on how to do it.:vapor:

No flavor wick at all? Do you have a flooding problem?
