Protank 2 heads

I was excited to just get my protank 2 today. I followed every thing to the letter...watched 2 videos. I set it up with about half-tank full and let lie for a couple of minutes. I take a puff and I get a dry burn. I did not buy any extra heads, I just have the 2 that came with the package. I have it set on a vamo at 3.7 volts with a 2.2 single coil head.

I have only one head left so now I am extremely careful the second time and what happens...another dry burn...how is this possible... can I have gotten 2 bad heads in one package. Anyone have any suggestions and advice?

I think it is possible. My last experience with Kanger PT's was filling three separate with different liquids for the work day. New heads in all of the tanks. I struggled to get a good vape all day. Fiddled with the wicks a bit and nothing. Dry hits! Went home washed them out and never touched them again. Very stressful not having a vape for 12hrs. Panic feeling.

My advice would be to move on from the PT's
I will never let 3 different tanks keep me from vaping again.

Fiddled with the wicks a bit and nothing. Dry hits! Went home washed them out and never touched them again. Very stressful not having a vape for 12hrs. Panic feeling.

Do they have dual coil for the protank 2...I saw them for the kanger 3 but I was not going to buy them unless I know for sure they are interchangeable...

Not Interchangeable. Only pt3 and new aero tanks coils are.

Try drop a juice on the bottom hole and prime it couple of times..

I only had one that tasted burnt, but removed the silicone cup off the top of the coil and that fixed the issue. You could also try clipping off the rim if you don't want to remove the whole thing.



ETA: There are adapters coming out that let's you change the PT2s to BDC.

I've been using both a Protank II and a Protank II Mini for about one and a half months now, and as of yesterday I am on my tenth coil of either 1.8 or 2.5 ohms. Ten in 47 days = about one new coil every 5 days. That seems like a lot, considering they are allegedly supposed to last 1-2 weeks, but in all fairness I have been vaping alot of heavy (50% VG) and dark (lots of sediment) juices. Also at first I was washing them in either hot water or pure grain alcohol every time I rinsed out the tanks, which isn't really necessary quite that often and puts unnecessary wear on the wicks.

With my PT2, I avoid the dreaded dry hit by doing a no power hit first and the a 1/2 sec hit with power after refilling the tank and changing the head.

Thank you for that. What really bothers me is when he states that this is not for you or this not for someone else. Sure, it is easy to say such things when you are getting everything for free. That really gets me and disturbs me so much I want to scream. I bet you if they had to pay for these items they would probably hang themselves.

I always remove the top part of the head first, and drop a couple of drops of ejuice on the coils when using a new head for the first time. I also do that after cleaning and dry burning. I do that with all my devices (toppers) now, and have never had a dry burn since.

The coils do suck. They last about 5-7 days. Never personally got a dry burn on them but i blew one in 6 hours one day. It went from reading at 2.3ohm to 4.7. ...? And i could rebuild the vivi nova coil in 20 seconds. For some reason with these ive been completely unsuccessful on the rebuild. I have no rational explanation. I do love it though and it vapes amazing WHEN its working properly.

FYI Getting burnt hit doesn't ruin the coil as silica does not burn.

As mentioned you can remove the silcone grommet, which I do, or you can unscrew the bottom cap about a quarter turn. With the silicone grommet inststalled if you tighten the bottom cap too tight it will choke off the juice flow.

I also dry burn these coils around 3.6 volts when they get gunked up. Sometimes this works for a long time and other times the coil will pop and it's done. But overall I get good results with dry burning and longevity from the coils.

When I use a brand new one I wet the exposed wicks with juice and put 2 drops down the center post to prime them. I am very pleased with my PT and PT 2. I have quite a few and they are my main vape at them moment.

Thank you for the info...I am not knocking the protank because even with the dry burn I saw the vapor production, but based on your description, do you know of a video that can describe what you are saying because I have no idea. That was the first time I ever saw one of those heads.

I want to go slightly off target here. I purchased the aspire nautilus, it comes with 2 heads. I thought I would look around and find the heads at a cheap price. All I have found thus far is 3.5 dollars and 3 dollars. That is alot of money. Anyone know of a vendor to get a better price?

I have had a protank and the T3S for about 3 months, I hate them all equally. No matter what I did they kept leaking into my mod and into my mouth, I tried new heads, was changing them every two days at one point, Tried rebuilding the heads, no good. Bottom line - If you're going to rely on vaping for your nic fix, spend the money and get a genesis or something reliable.
