The dual coils in the Protank III do produce a better tasting, more dense vape, but both seem to have dodgy replacement coils. The Protank II is easily rebuildable (if you ever plan to get into that, lots better flavor/performance) and with a cheap adapter, can run Aspire's dual coils, which, in my opinion, are far better than the dual coils in the Protank III/Aerotank.

I've currently shelved my Protanks in favor of rebuildables, such as the Kayfun, but I do use them to test out new juices that can damage plastic tanks with the Aspire BDC adapter. I believe discountvapers.com sells the adapters.

In short, I'd keep your Protank II and just buy the Aspire BDC adapter and enjoy a better vape than the Protank III without spending a ton of extra money.

I'm digging the pro 2. After some help from other members on coil buliding I don't feel the need for the dual. Will invest in a air control first. I have a top dual coil i30s the flavor is a little better. But I can build ten for what one of the 30s coils cost. The aspire mod is easy and cheap enough if I feel the need later. My only regret is I bought a dark blue tank its hard to see the juice level.

i would never recommend a protank 2 to anyone after having to deal with all the problems ive had with mine. Ive owned it for about a month and for the last week ill fill it up and all it does is spit in my mouth and ive ended up wasting 2 bottle of juice doing a trial and error trying to fix it. i have yet to have any luck with anything ive tried and i still cant vape because of the tank non stop spitting when i fill it up. im getting so sick of it and i dont want to buy another tank ive spent well over 100 on tanks in the last 3 months and its getting pricey to try and get the hits i want like when i first got the protank2

First of all if you have a protank, if you can get the base for a miniprotank and put it on, it eases problems on the 510 threadwell.

On the protank
After a few days of frequent use (maybe even 1 day depending on how hard you vape) the head on the protank (and other bottom coil clearos) tend to leak; I suspect open channel develop in the wicking, especially from sucking hard. Just changing out the head solves the problem;
If it is leaking alot, the coil tends to get flooded;
I often store protanks upside down to prevent flooding of coil area from gravity.

If you suspect your coil is flooded you can hold the tip to your ear and press the fire button; if it is flooded you may hear a low burbling sound; if it is working good, there should be more of a snap crackle pop.

Tilting the tank to let any flooding leak out is one thing to try to see if it makes a difference; (but nicotine liquid would move towards the mouthpiece so be mindfull of that)
