Protank 2 question.

I just started getting into ecigs. So I got a Protank 2. I was wondering if the Pyrex tank section is suppose to feel so light and plastic-ish. And was wondering if what I got was genuine. It did not have the holographic seal closing the box. It did have an authentication scratch off code to test on the site provided which was something I wasn't expecting so I am unsure if that is trustworthy. The base does have the logo and name etched on.

The glass tank portion is not that thick or heavy, so you might have an authentic one. Provided you didn't pay too much and it performs well, you would probably be fine even if it were a clone.

I've heard that some outfits go so far as to clone the scratch authentication as well, but haven't encountered that myself.

Tried this question elsewhere but it got buried......

I feel like I am a little late to the PT2 party here. I bought both the PT2 and the PT2 mini about two weeks ago with some extra coils (not interested in re-building) but I haven't had any issues and actually quite like the vape.

Now I am concerned that I may be missing on some tricks and tips for the PT2 or that I may be missing the Aerotank boat. I have some Aspire products (plastic, not glass) that are fine but not the same.

Anyone want to chime in for a new PT user that doesn't want to rebuild coils?

wierd.. neither of my boxes had a scratch off but had seals and they have the etching logos...did u try the code to see if it was real..?

Kanger started the scratch off codes about a month ago. My new PT2 Mini has one and my older PT2 and PT2 Mini doesn't but they came well packaged in a Kanger box.

I have dropped my MVP v2 with a protank 2 quite a few times and it hasn't broke yet. Doesn't seem to be to fragile. Regardless, glass is best.

I have as well dropped my MVP V2 with my Protank II and I have only broken 1 tank and that was a crack - the tank still worked for week or so more until I got the replacement glass in the mail. It only fially broke when I took it apart to swap the glass. I break way more drip tips (I don't like metal ones)

I am at the point where I only use either the Protank II or the Mini Protank II. The only thing I would suggest is for your Protank II pick up the Aero Base. It drastically improves the vape and you will not have the leaking problems that the Protank II has with some Juices.

Just placed an order for some things and needed some "just to be safe" replacement parts and when I tried to find the Aerotank base, it was out of stock but the actual Aerotank was not.

I assume that as long as I am using the right coils (aerotank on aerotank and protankII coils on PT with Aerotank base), the base will work on either?

Do some packages not come with the seal on the box?

I have a PT 2 and a PT3, both came with scratchoff authentication cards [though i didn't bother to scratch either] both work perfectly! I don't recall if they have the holographic sticker seal or just a small circular clear sticker. I will check when I get home and report back.

I still use my PT2 on the daily, never rebuild coils for it.. I just order off eBay, can find them for well under $2 a piece so rebuilding just doesn't seem worth my time. I use the 2.2 ohm coils.

Just make sure you keep your PT relatively topped off. i've noticed, and read elsewhere that when they get below the 50% mark, it can create a reverse vacuum and cause your PT to leak out the 510 connector. keeping it filled above the 1/2 way mark seems to resolve this issue. I have also noticed that the amount of leakage is linked to the viscosity of the ejuice you are using.

You can also use your pt 2 coils on your aerotank, I have tried that. I think just not the other way around, that I haven't tried.

I thought you could not because the aerotank uses dual coil and pt2 used single so different base...

You can. I did and it works. The only difference in the coils is the dc is slightly taller than the single coils, but the part that threads into the base is identical.
