Kanger Protank Redesign?

I just received a new Protank yesterday and it looks different from my older Protanks. Is this an updated design? It has a second inner ring at the base of the tank portion that forms a metal bridge around the center post, where you fill the eliquid. I believe it's authentic, as it came with the spare coil and ring in the standard paper box with the hologram seal and the tank itself has the Kanger logo inscribed, just like the older ones. The draw seems to have tightened up a little, like the Evods, so I like it better. I haven't heard of any new tank design, so was curious...

Thanks for posting pictures. I too received a Protank yesterday but I guess I got new-old stock as mine has the unsupported center tube. If you have tried both the supported and unsupported type, which do you like better?

Neat. I bet it is to pull it together a bit better so they dont have less glue seperation issues.
After looking at the pic some more it looks like the drip tip has more of a radius to it also.

Actually, the hole on the newer one is narrower (on the left) and the metal tip looks thicker. They both function pretty much the same, except I would suspect the newer one is a bit sturdier. The only difference I noticed right away is that the draw on the newer one is tighter, on par with my Evods, with no modification, so I definitely like the draw on the newer one better.

I knew there was a redesign esp to fix the issue of the threads breaking.

Hmmm. I've grown quite fond of the airy draw on the Protank, and whenever I take a draw off another clearo like the Vivi Nova, I find the Vivi too restrictive and tight. Hopefully they haven't tightened 'em up that much.

I too would miss the airy draw ( we're all different), but nothing a drill bit wouldn't cure I think. I believe the airy draw makes more vapor at lower ohms. ( a very uneducated opinion and may be wrong and am waiting to get chastised for saying that)

I will be glad if they fixed the glue leaks and the weak thread problems.

I have one of the older designs and like the tank itself, however dislike the airy draw. How would one modify it for tighter draw as you mention?

There doesn't seem to be any difference with the base, so I can't say the threading is any sturdier.

There are air holes in the base near the threads, just plug one up. One way is to use plumbers tape over them and punch one out to allow air to only one.

Thanks for posting pics. Cool to see its been redesigned. Hope to get my hands on one. The airy flow doesn't really bother me but I also would not mind a thicker vape. I recently bought some tank airflow controllers and like having control of this. Already makes me wonder how theyll work on the newest protanks

Thanks. That makes too much sense. I was considering adding a strand of wick to it as taking one out seems to loosen them up but imagine that only affects fluid flow.
