I just stepped up from smokelessimage x2 batteries with t3 tanks to evic with protank 2 and unitank.
The problem being that they kill the subtle flavors in my menthols such as all the halo flavors and niquid menthols. All I get is a cazy minty blast with a greasy motor oil flavor after taste.

Not sure what's going on because I've tried all vw vv settings. Obviously one isn't pyrex, so I can't image what the problem is. Also I'm a bit concerned about menthols ever so slightly melting the plastic tanks.

Any serious menthol vapers or sympathisers have suggestions on a Pyrex alternative to mt3s? I'm thinking its an air flow issue. However I don't want to do any crazy drilling or tank modification.

I'm thinking the evic may have been a mistake. Back to SI for a volt spinner and reliable tanks?

Probably a silly question but did you give the new tanks a good cleaning before you used them? I know some of the Protanks have a history of have machining oil still on them when they ship.

FOr the flavor have you experiment with the volts setting? You might have it a bit to high or too low for optimal flavor. That said Protanks do mute the flavor some.

Have you tried the Glass Aspires? I find the flavor to be better on those. Of course that really is an individual taste sort of statement so take with however many grains of salt you like.

Uhh. Ive cleaned the unitank by soaking it in vodka. So no its not really a silly question. How would you clean these things anyway? I might need to do that. It does taste a bit like machining oil. Didnt taste that way with the niquid butterscotch but, thats a crazy powerful flavor and I put it in the tank id soaked in vodka twice.

Everclear or high test rubbing alcohol are the two best ways I know of.

Look out! Learning curve ahead!

It's hard to say what it is. I only have one juice flavor I really like, so I put it in a variety of devices - bottom coil, top coil, dual bottom coil, carto tank, bottom-feeder, dripping atty - since each one tastes a little different. It's a mint/menthol flavor and in some tanks I get more mint, in others more menthol, and in still others it tastes sweeter.

Unfortunately, trying other devices may be your best (albeit expensive) option.

I vape menthol a lot and have said in other posts when talking about EVOD clearos which use the ProTank heads that I'm getting a horrid fishy/kerosene taste from them that I don't get from my Joye CCs with Type A attys nor my iSmoka and T3s mini heads. Turns out it was the menthol. I loaded several juices with no menthol in them to the ones with Protank heads and didn't get that awful taste. Why menthol tastes so bad on those heads and not others I can't explain. Maybe its some reaction with the lubricant Kanger uses that didn't get washed out completely?... dunno

Pretty sure you have a bunk product and I have to say that Kanger is a top-notch product, and the PTII is as good as any tankstyle on the market. And besides the Aro is basically a larger capacity EVOD that is available with pyrex(also comes in standard plastic)...other than that...it is the same thing. Don't know how this is so much better when its almost an exact copy. Just bigger.

Because Kanger is the only company that on google will auto suggest "Kanger metalic taste".
Type "Kanger metalic" and google will suggest "Kanger metalic taste".

Why does google dothat?
Because tons of people searched for "kanger metalic taste"

They don't evem bothet to machine down the sharp edges on the bottom of the pro and unitanks.
Kanger is straight up manufactured by people who don't care.
The reason "its the same as every other tank" is because people keep supporting Kanger.
I'm 100% sure people are just passing of Kangers poor quality production for the lack of a better product.
This is a business model though....and they won't get better the more you support them.

(Sorry typed this on my phone. Will go back and edit tonight)

THIS!!!!
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/469463-protank-2-vs-aro-pyrex-tank.html

This is why Kangers going in the garbage. I'm not paying to fix something or wash this poorly machined junker one thousand times, or even twice. No...once or twice won't do it. Dont leave machine oil or melting plastic in something I'm going to inhale. Unacceptable china!

Thanks for that link. Now I can use the three EVODs I bought (though I don't like the loose/airy draw on them.) They've been sitting in a backup drawer along with a box of Protank heads I got with them. This is an odd thing: All my EVODs came with the original EVOD heads which didn't have this taste problem. I ordered a box of EVOD heads with them and my order was filled with ProTank heads. I found out why: Kanger discontinued the original EVOD heads. So my EVODS were a loss due to the ProTank heads. Will order an Aro head and see if it works.

The eVic is not likely the problem. I have NOT had this problem with my Protank 2s, but I quit using my Unitank because all my juices lost flavor in it. It is a horrible tank if you like the flavor of your juice.
