Protank 3 and Aerotank Flooding

This is absolutely driving me insane and making me want to smoke. I have had a protank 3 for awhile and for about the first 2 hours of a new head it would be great. However after that it would start to gurgle and when I took everything apart there was e-juice on the battery connection.

I tried two more brand new coils with the same result. I thought maybe I got a bad batch of coils so I bought some new ones and it does the same damn thing!

Today I saw that Kanger had their new Aerotank out and figured I would give it a try to see if the tank itself was the issue. Nope, same exact thing. Great for a few hours, then gurgle, then flooded.

I then watched a video on rewicking the heads with cotton. I pulled the head apart and re wicked it using cotton and it was amazing......for about 3 hours. Now, once again it is gurgling and there is juice on the bottom AGAIN.

This is really pissing me off and making me want to smoke. Those 2-3 hours are AWESOME and I love it when its working properly but cleaning this thing out 3-4 times a day is really getting annoying.

Thoughts?

I just read an article saying that I may be drawing too hard and sucking the vaper out of the wick which is then dripping down to the battery.

I do long slow draws as per the sticky guide said to do. I am pulling nowhere near as hard as I was on cigarettes. I don't think this is the issue but I suppose I can try drawing even SLOWER?

If the tank is flooding/gurgling it could be your airflow setting. If the airflow is restricted it creates more vacuum in the tank causing it to flood. Open up the airflow, move the airflow control ring down towards the battery, this will reduce the vacuum inside the tank. Do this slowly, if you open airflow too much then you will go from flooding to dry/burnt hits.

You can also take the airflow control base section off your aerotank, and screw it onto your pt3 to test what sdennislee advised on your pt3. The aero base fits all the protanks, dual coil or the old single coil units like the pt2, and it should help solve the airflow restriction problems the regular 510 bases caused on most of the kanger pro tanks. That restriction is responsible for 99% of peoples gurgle issues on kangers pro tanks (pt1,pt2,pt3) but not the minipro as it runs an ego connection which does not restrict the coil airflow or gurgle.

If this solves your pt3 issues, the aero base can be had for about six dollars...

My own cure for the 510 base air flow gurgle problem is to just put a minipro2 base on my pt2's. It fits perfectly, eliminates the 510 air restriction and now my protanks run flawlessly just like a minipro with no gurgles all the way to an empty tank... no gurgles no flooding.

NOTE HOWEVER..., it is totally normal for a tiny bit of e juice to get on the positive pin an any bottom coil clearo, regardless of manufacturer. It's not a problem.
