As mentioned in the title I was wondering if it was possible to strip and rebuild protank 3 dual coil heads to adjust the ohms rating? New to rebuilds and was just wondering
Yea I did search youtube but I only found one pretty low quality video. The rest were all Protank 2 rebuilds. Maybe it was just me, can you provide any links?
I rebuilt mine fairly easily, it's a bit trickier than protank and protank 2 rebuilds, but it can be done. Just have to take your time, only suggestion I can make is to put a flavor wick between the coils so they don't touch each other.
This is what I've seen. It seems that the dual coil ain't all that on the PT3. It's basically becoming a top fill version of the PT2 which is pretty cool. I don't think I'll be spending the money though.
I rebuild my PT2 heads with micro-coils and cotton wicks. I recently purchased a PT3. I liked the dual coils, but was thinking how much better is would be with cotton wicks. I found this video last week, but haven't tried it myself.

This gives me a little interest in it. I like cotton wicks but I think the problem with dual coil heads is that one coil is always blocking the other. It's not like on a dual coil dripper where they are completely separated from each other and have their own air intakes. I'm heading down the carto tank road at this point and may come back and re-visit this.
That my friends is NOT *&^%ing WORTH IT! I have a real easy solution for this. (pay attention Kanger) DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THE PT3! Rip said it best. The next thing this guys MUST make is a 22mm tank and put some brain power behind it and dump this little PITA attys. I have 2 pt2's and a mini PT1.5 (if you can believe that goofiness) and I use them daily. It got me off the stinkies, but I think once I get my paws on a russian or a knockoff, I'll toss kanger in the trash. Thanks for posting the video. It was a little less than entertaining. ;-/

I tried cartos, but they didn't last long with dark colored eliquids. I was also concerned with bacterial growth in the wadding after a day. I like the glass tanks, because I can clean them every day and know they are really clean.
