As the resident vape gear repairman out on my oil rig I get guys that come in at least weekly with clearos and ego batteries in pretty poor shape. I still have a bag full of parts and partial kits to work with and salvage from.

So a guy comes in with a protank 3 mini he got from the mall kiosk... They sold him the wrong coils for it first off. I was able to pull the tube section off of his old burnt coil and make his new coil fit. They sold him a pretty thick juice and even after priming the wick it just didnt want to vape worth a crap.

I gave him a new bottle of Hangsen ry4 and filled the tank with it. I primed it and got it working... I was amazed at the tiny little pin hole air holes this thing had in it and how little vapor I got from it. It hurt my face trying to get a good draw on this crappy little tank. I felt so bad that this poor kid wanting to quit smoking was having to suffer through high pg chiniese ry4 and a crappy little tank.

Since I got the Atlantis I have been deciding on what old vape gear to use for my pay it forward program. All he had was a regular old ego battery. I gave him my Kanger Aero mega ( Back up tank ) and loaned hin my MVP until we leave work next tuesday.

I cant believe how far we have come in 2 years. I cant believe mall kiosks are still selling these wreched little clearomizers ( I cant be 100% that it was even authentic kanger )...

He is coming back after 6pm and going to order a nautilus with steel tank section and an istick mini or mvp2. I wish I could just give him one. he asked if I wanted the protank mini... I felt bad saying no... I would have thrown it in the trash.

That is really nice of you. It's nice to have the support. A year ago Kanger was so popular and a lot of us thought the Protanks were next level. Then we have Aspire which is destroying the market right now with great tanks, BVC coils, Nautilus and Atlantis. After trying the new Aspire stuff, then trying to old Kanger stuff... you really see how crappy that stuff was :p.

Everyone that i know i tell them to avoid Kiosks and local shops like the plague. They will sell you anything. Whether the juice is terrible, or the hardware isn't compatible. They overcharge you and don't really care about what they sell you.

I ordered the Kanger SUBtank even though I am really loving my Atlantis...

I got a message that it wasnt going to ship immediatley so I just cancelled the order completely. Im not in any way saying the SUbtank wont be every bit as good as the atlantis BUT... I have already heard you cant even vape it with the stock drip tip because it gets to hot. I mean how hard would it have been for them to have figured that out and maybe shipped a different tip?

I spent too many nights tearing apart protank coils, flipping the rubber cup, dry burning and dealing with crappy kanger products. My first aspire product was a 7 dollar plastic clearo with the BDC coils... it wasnt perfect but was light years beyond kanger. They had a bad batch of BDCs for the nautilus but since the BVC coil and the mini came out I have had non stop amazing vaping... well until the Atlantis dropped and made my nautilus look like a little baby toy...

I want Kanger to do well... I want them to give Aspire some competition so the prices stay competitive and they keep researching improvements... but Kanger needs to do a lot of work to impress me.

I still have my tray of Kanger coils and i definitely don't miss cleaning them. It was a daily routine that got really repetitive. Aspire brings a lot more convenience and performance. I haven't had the chance to try the Atlantis but maybe someday! I also want Kanger to do well because it's what got me off smoking, but they have a lot of catching up to do.

I like my Kanger V2's,)Ed the Megas and I can't wait to get our SubTanks) I can blow just as big a cloud as my daughter can with her Nautilus (I had those first and gave them to her).
and no problem with coils, they get a little burny tasting off the the soak bowl they go and rotate them back through, toss after 30 ml or so and replace with a new one. No biggie.

with the Aspires I feel like I"m sucking a golf ball through a garden hose to get a satisfying vape.

what some love some don't. like Vivi Nova's that one I'll never understand it's Aspire's equivalent to Mini pro tanks *lol*

remember it's subjective always,

I'd say go ahead and give the Subtank a try, It's currently my favorite work tank. Nothing wrong with the Atlantis I think it's a great tank too, but the larger capacity and OCC give the Subtank the edge. If the Aqua v2 wasn't so darn good for flavor I'd have one tank one mod 70% of the time.

I guess it is all about how much you know....................or have forgotten.
When Power vaping becomes a reference point, it is time to stop helping and take a second look at priorities.

If the Tank is a true Kanger product, the air flow is sufficient for its design parameters. The Juice supplied was no doubt stupid and not suited for a lower line clearo.
Protank 3 is the third upgrade of the tank. PT1 worked as did PT2 and PT3 made advancements.

For a power vapor PT = Junk
For a Novice it can be the perfect tool.........................when set up properly.

I use everything from Carto's and Clearos to Kayfuns and Orchids as well as some really fun RDA's. They all have their place.

It is a wonderful feeling to help someone get interested in vaping. I love it so much. I am different (of course, usually am) but I loved the ProTanks and evods when I first started. They were awesome for me and so easy for me to rebuild. I do not use them anymore only because I fell in love with dripping and found my vaping haven in the reo which is the ultimate dripper. I'm just glad there are so many different options for the vaper now. Good luck to your friend and good job on teaching others a healthier alternative to smoking.

Funny. Aspire/Kanger/Innokin has become the Google/Apple/Microsoft of the vape world right down to all the opinions and personal preferences.

I feel like a father and each product is like a dude coming to pick up my daughter for prom...

Oh hell no acrylic ViVi nova... my little girl deserves better than the likes of you....

Listen Karen, what about that nice boy Atlantis? Sure there are guys out there with bigger tanks, but he has a really good ( Bottom Vertical Coil ) head on his shoulders. He blows huge clouds of vapor and has really good air flow. I am very impressed by him. Your mother wasnt thrilled about you sub ohming at first but she has grown quite fond of the idea.

The ViVi nova... now that was a pure D piece of crapola... I hated that sorry top wick piece of junk...

Always got on well with kanger coils easy to build easy to get hold of but of course they don't come close to my lemos or my subtank which I feel has the edge over the Atlantis as well, its a well designed tank that has given me zero issues whether I use the pre built heads or the rba section. Some people like and get on with different things it's what makes vaping interesting and keeps us on our toes :).

Either Organic Octopus Coils...

Or maybe Organic Cotton Coils...

Im hoping on the first one, bet the flavor is delicious!

Sounds like something I'd find in Koreatown...

Organic Cotton Coils was what I was referring to, they look dead simple to dryburn and rewick, ill find out when my first coil is gunky, still looks fine.

Rock (kanger) Vs. Disco (aspire)...

lol... kind of unfair to compare a protank to a newer product. :p right? There should be a sticky on the new user forum: if you insist on buying a protank of any flavour, then pls do your yourself a flavour and get the airflow control base at the same time... or just be done with it and buy a stainless aerotank v2 or mini in the first place.
I like the protank 2...said it lots of times here and prolly will again. I can fill it and clean under the coil in 60 seconds and be on my way. Good vape with an afc but should be stainless.

So the OCC you are referring to is the replaceable coil that comes with the subtank, right?

So don't you also have an RBA head with the subtank?
Why are you concerned about dryburning and rewicking the replaceable head (I think referring to it as an OCC head just means most people don't know what you're talking about), when you can just dryburn and rewick the RBA head which has screws to properly secure your coil?
