PT3? I can't get past the idea that it uses a plastic tank. The whole reason I went for PT and PT2 was to get away from plastic. So there's that.
Anyone have or used both?
Is the PT3 available yet?

I picked up an Aspire just to see what the fuss is all about. What I don't like about it, just seeing it even, has made me put it in the "later" pile for now. I'm a 100 VG user and I don't see this working at all:
The draw is insanely tight empty. Not connected to any PV even. That might change with liquid in it, but based on what I see in the design I'm not counting on it.
It does have two holes in the base for liquid to enter the coil "chamber" - but they are really small. I can't see it working with anything but the thinnest PG.
There's other stuff I don't like about the design either. With a Kanger BCC you could vape it almost empty because the wick sits so low in the bottom of the tank. On the Aspire the holes in the coil thing are so high up you will always have about 3/4's of a ml in the tank that sit below those feed holes. In other words, it can still have a deceptively large amount of liquid in it - that you can't vape.
I will try it - eventually. But there's a lot I see in the design that I don't like the looks of.
the aspire coil is a better vape by design- the pt3 was put out to counter the aspire dbc but it is just the kanger bcc with a flavor wick over the first coil and the then the second coil parallel over the first and more flavor wicks. with this design the top coil is prone to drier and more scratchy hits. the aspire coil has two coils getting fed from a carto-like sleeve material with no flavor wicks in between to gum up the vape. just smoother and much more flavorful than the protanks.
and rickajho- i run exclusively 100% bobas and wta unflavored(100%vg) and haven't had a single problem yet with wicking, leaking, draw, etc. like any device that gets its airflow through the bottom it can't be restricted but i put eveything on airflow controllers so that is never a problem. too bad you aren't enjoying yours as well as i and others are enjoying ours........
After 5 days I'm not that fond of the Aspire. Maybe it's my liquid, but it's not as fully saturated as it would from an evod/Vapeonly head. The 4 hole head vapes a little better. Maybe it needs bigger holes, more filling, I don't know, but so far it's not working for me. We'll see...
I have a PT3, got it yesterday. Aspire should arrive tomorrow, so i can give you a comparison then.
So far, not a fan of the PT3. I like that its glass, solid construction, big capacity. I *dont* like the ultra airy draw!!! I mean, its like breathing through a 1/2" straw. Too airy- makes the hits cool and weak. Ive tightened the beauty ring up and restricted airflow as much as possible by that method, better but still sucks to me.
Vapor production is just OK- no better than my trusty ol' EVOD (which i like better, actually).
I totally disagree with this. I have the protank 3 as well as the protank 2 and the aspire. The aspire provides better flavor than the stock protank 2 heads but you still get that dry hit once in a while. With the protank 3, i am getting no dry hits whatsoever even at 11 watts. Full rich flavor all the time. Something i never got out of a clearomizer. Honestly, i wasn't expecting much out of the protank 3. I bought one so i can rebuild my old protank 2 coils and use them on it (yes it is backwards compatible). I was expecting a similar vape to the aspire but not as good, but the protank 3 so far is performing outstandingly. I vaped full tanks of 50/50 juice from top to bottom with no leaks or gurgles either.![]()
