What they said. The Protank 2 and 3 series are nearly identical, the only real difference being the 3's use a taller dual coil that they're designed to fit. The 2's were designed for the smaller single coil so they won't fit the dual coils from the new Kanger tanks, including the Protank 3, Mini Protank 3, Aerotank and Evod 2.

But the old single coils will fit in the Protank 3, there will just be some extra space between the rubber seal on the coil head and the bottom of the chimney. It still works fine if you're just sitting at your desk or something, but it can cause some leaking once you're out and about and it's moving around, left upside down, etc.

So can anyone advise on a solution for a single coil on the protank mini 3? I have both the 2 and 3 and not really a fan of dual coils (had to try the dual) but really love the protank minis style.

See my post (two up) about using T3/MT3 single coils in my PT3 Mini. 24-hours and two juice changes so far: no leaks and good vapor production on my MVP2.

I haven't tried it, but I saw some posts, and pics somewhere where people were rebuilding pt3 heads with single coils, and just using extra wicking for the longer slot. I wonder if it's best to put the extra wicks under or over the coil?

I've been rebuilding the PT3 heads for about a week now, I've not been putting in any more cotton than needed. After you fluff the cotton a bit, the rubber cap will come right down to it.
