Protank Mini 3 coils?

I recently bought a Protank Mini 3...and I love it, but...

The local shops keep giving me cartomzer coils?! Back home, there are the actual coils with the silica wicks stick out each side... One of the shops I went to locally told me they discontinued the ones that I had originally because, "People were rebuilding the coils." Can anyone confirm this?

Kanger have "upgraded" to a new enclosed wick dual coil. If this is to stop people rebuilding them or not is a bit of a mystery. If it is to stop people rebuilding then they have failed.

I use the new enclosed coils in my emow mega and I rebuild them to a single vertical micro coil wrapped with Japanese cotton as if prefer them to the standard dual coils.

I bought my wife and I a set of new Protank Mini 3's, and they came with the older style coils with the wicks coming out the sides. When I bought a new set of coils, I discovered the same thing as you did, Kitty. Leekey is correct. The new coils are now the "upgraded" version that do not have the wicks sticking out. They are still OK, but honestly, I prefer the performance of the older style coils. I have also heard of people rebuilding these, and there are YouTube videos showing how it is done.

Very easy to rebuild, I youtubed it the first time and it's not hard.

Same :/ Kind of bummed out that they changed them. These just don't seal the same.

I haven't had a single leak issue, nor any gurgling problems with the Mini 3. But it was just about perfect before they changed the coil design. Now it's almost, but not quite there. Still, it beats the heck outta my old EVOD tank.

Rebuild the heads vertical no leaks, gurgling, dry hits and in my opinion a better vape especially if you have a vv or vw mod

Easy and fun to rebuild them new and old just don't mix the parts lol one at a time lol
