Just as stated in the subject line the glass came off from its base. Now I had just traded this Clearo to a friend who was grabbing onto the glass instead of the metal base to refill the Kanger ProTank Mini to refill which I warned them not to do.

Primary question is what type of glue should I use to re-attach the glass container to the metal base? Now I just don't want to use elmers or super glue which may be toxic. Does the community have an agreed upon adhesive which should be used in such situations.

Thank you

You don't need any glue. The air tube, which is attached to the top, is threaded and screws into the base upper with the glass tube in between. An o-ring goes at the top and bottom of the glass.

Is it a PT1? Glued? You should use silicone sealer. First, wash the surface both sides, wash again the zone you'll be gluing with a little acetone (or nail remover if you don't have any), let dry and apply a thin coat of silicone to the top of the glass. Hold with some force for 5 minutes and let dry completely for 3 days. Silicone sealer is found in any hardware store in gel form and costs pennies. It's acetic acid based (vinegar) so it's perfectly safe to use. It might come off in a few months, scrape and repeat as many times as needed.

Yeah, I didn't think about it being an original Mini Protank. If that's the case, he'd be better off just buying a Mini Protank 2. The glue on the original just didn't work that well.

I don't buy Protanks, they always leak. Try the Davide, it's better built, and the straight glass makes it leakproof.

Hmm...I've been using the same full size Protank 2 all day, every day, since January without a single leak. Maybe I'm lucky.

More than leaking it's like perspiration through the glass/metal joint. If I run my hand, a little eliquid seeps through. I carried it in my vaping bag rolled onto some Duramax that always came out wet and sticky. Every tank does this to some extent, but protanks (all) are the worst offenders. I've even sealed many of these with my method (used on boats to keep water out of windows and deck hardware) and a little always seeps through.
