Anybody else get an odd taste when using this tank? It tastes kind of burnt/metal to me. I got this tank bc I read all kinds of great things about it, and so far I'm not that impressed. I think I may stick with the diamond carto tanks from Diamond Vapor. they have a clean great tasting vape.

Did you give the tank a good clean out before using it. I found out pretty early on that a new tank has all sorts of production residue in them like machine oil when first bought.

If you've already cleaned it out, just ignore me

I like to use alcohol when I really need to clean my protank. I'll even soak the head to clear any burnt juice from the wick which breathes some extra life into those heads.

That said, I've noticed that I have to dial down the wattage on my mod with the protank to avoid burning juice. It's ok because I like cool airy vapes. If that's not your thing, you might want to consider another delivery device.

I also prefer metal to plastic, but it drives some folks up a wall.

I guess what I'm saying is that I really like my protank but it's not going to be for everyone. Give it a chance and if you don't like it, well move on and use it as a back up.

Vodka is a good thing to use for cleaning. Just the cheapest, nastiest vodka you can find, but with the highest alcohol content. The sort you don't drink, but it's good for stripping paint from doors

I didn't know about the cleaning out thing either. Ewww. I don't get the metal taste but I remove one of the wicks for almost all my juices. Seems to flow better that way.

I've just had the x9 protank clone delivered today, first thing I did was take it apart. Checked all the seals and threads, then checked the resistance of the coil. Then gave it a good wash, it's now soaking overnight in voddy

Just got a new protank mini. Out of curiosity I just loaded some juice and fired it up. No bad taste.

I think I prefer the mini to the protank btw.

Me too. I get less burnt taste and it's not doesn't have that airy draw.

White vinegar is good I just ran a few tanks through mine soon came out
