I bought a full size Protank2 and I'm starting to hate it already. I have a mini protank2 and a mini protank3 and really like both of them. I bought a full size Protank2 and can't get it to work right at all. I'm using the 1.8ohm coils that came with it. The vapor production is downright terrible, the taste isn't much better. Should I just huck it in the garbage and call it a loss or is there a way to make it function the way I want it to? I've gone up and down through the voltage and wattage and it just blows all the way through. I'm pretty bummed out, I paid 18 bucks for the thing and I'm feeling like I've been taken for a ride.

I felt airflow was the biggest problem with my Protank 2, I just bought it to replace my mini PT2 my husband broke :glare: I use it as my stealth vaper. As a quick fix I swapped the base for my mini 2 base, looks dumb it'll do the trick until the Kanger Aerotank base with adjustable airflow comes in the mail. Cost like $3.50 from Sun-Vapers.

Search for protank 2 airflow fix on YouTube. I had horrible airflow on both of mine, and ended up drilling out 2 of the air holes that are just above the threading. I've read people saying that this weakens the threads, and can cause them to break, but I haven't experienced this. It's not "perfect" air, but a big improvement. Personally I use rayon for wick, as I think the flavor is significantly better than cotton or silica, bit everyone has they're own opinion on that.

I've got full size PT2's and minis. I do know you can get a much better vape if you make your own coils and wicks. There are lots of threads here about it, and lots of youtube videos showing you how. It's fairly easy to do. I would try that before you give up on the PT2.

One other thing. The regular prebuilt coils seem to have quality control issues. A lot of people have reported getting bad batches of coils.

I had PT2s as my starters. I quickly got airflow controllers. But, I tried a Nautilus and was hooked. They have a different coil (BVC), but very good step up.

I still use my Nauties, but, I wanted more and got a Kayfun. I practiced making coils and getting the tools for rebuilding. In the end, the rebuildables are more flexible, but only about 5-10% better flavor.

I bet the Nautiluses would work real well in comparison to the Protanks. Give one a shot.

Such a great hobby!
