Right, after posting a thread in the other forums asking about a battery I could use in my mechanical I am confused.
Basically I own 2 KTS mech's and I need a battery that preferably has a high mah (3400mah ish).
One kts will be running a rba and one will be running a 3ohm vivi with a kick.

Looking on rtdvapour I have found this battery the Panasonic NCR18650B which is protected
(Batteries : Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh Protected Button Top)
Could I use this battery in both my mechs without them failing ?
Is their C rating high enough, correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks in advance.

The kick is only used with IMR high drain batteries. Not protected batteries. Efest, AW, panasonic cgr ch, or panasonic ncr pd (not ncr b) are a few high quality high drain batteries. Make sure that they either say IMR, or you know that they are hybrid chemistry like the panasonics mentioned. It's not about mah, this can be very misleading as most manufacturers inflate their mash ratings by counting the power left in the battery cell that falls below 3.2v (which if the battery was discharged that low would ruin the cell). Make sure you do your homework, and remember, Google is your friend.

I'll agree with Cjax. The Kick will require the high drain IMR type battery, not a protected type. Stick with the AW, Panasonic, and Efest brand IMR batteries.

The mAh rating, which you appear to be focused on for longer battery use, can be misleading:

"When searching for Lithium-ion batteries as a power source, it’s often those high mAh figures that lure us in. In the case of IMR, those figures are often cut in half, since capacities of Li-MN cannot reach what lithium cobalt is capable of. This however does not diminish the ability of the IMR battery to perform just as well as the cobalt cell." (Batteries Archives)

I believe you'd be far better off using an IMR battery for all of your devices for the safer battery chemistry, and for even additional safety with the RBA, using a Vape Safe mod fuse. Batteries : Vape Safe Mod Fuse 2

Hi Richard,
The makers of the kick are very clear that the kick is to be used with IMR batteries. So you shouldn't use the one you linked with a kick. I suggest AW IMR or Efest IMR.
The Panasonic CGR18650CH is a hybrid chemistry that also gets called an IMR.
All of those are a safer kind of chemistry designed to handle high drain.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the protected Panasonic you linked. Also, I don't know what C rating it has. I'd get some quality IMRs:

AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
It has a max discharge rate of 10A.

Well, from what I've seen the Panasonic NCR18650B has a 2C rating.

IMRs usually have an 8C rating. So in answer to your question - as well as not being of use with a kick, the Panasonic NCR18650B doesn't have a high C rating either. An IMR can handle a bigger drain.
