I met a guy yesterday that has a customized chuck. It looked really awesome. He sent me the info on it and that is where I saw the little chuck. I like both. I like the chuck because the battery life is soooo long, but I like the little chuck because it is smaller and I have small hands (but the battery life isn't as long). I will have one...I just have to decide which one I want. It is sooo hard!

My hands are big enough for the Chuck, but I wanted the Little Chuck mainly because it's just big enough to do the job. At 3 1/2" a 910 atty & mouthpiece will put the overall length at around 5 3/4", which will make for a long-lasting 3.7v desktop vaper that I can take anywhere. The lower center of gravity means I won't be knocking it over as often, either. ;)

3.7v is plenty for me. From what I've read in these forums unless you're into dripping I wouldn't run at higher voltage. (Of course, the big Chuck is capable of 3.7v, too...)

Even with the Little Chuck, the battery should last all day. Just get a couple of batteries and switch them out every day. Should work great for ya. :)

That's what I'm looking forward to with the Little Chuck. I go through 4-5 901 batteries a day. It'll be nice to run on just one battery all day long. :)

I cannot speak of the protege bacause I do not have one, but as far as the Little Chuck, here are my reasons, not in any order:

1. One year warrantry
2. Better conductivity, less voltage drop, because it is built entirely of Brass and copper.
3. Nice knurled endcap, easier to remove than trying to grab the thin one on the protege.
4. Customizable - color and or graphics
5. Hand made, attention to detail.

These are just reasons I can think of over the protege. Some may apply to others, but others will have more reasons.

Good luck in your choosing!

I'm considering getting a small chuck in addition to my protege.
it has better conductivity than the protege?

EDIT: Hows the customer service for the chucks?

If you need anything done to your Chuck, Jeff will get right on it..
Dont worry about service after the sale..

I don't know anything about the Chuck, the great things about the Protege is the customer service from Puresmoker, the cheap batteries, attys and carts. I also love their juice and everything you buy from them comes really quickly.

However, the only other PV I own is the Ego, so in comparison the Protego is a garage-made, heavy, pipe with another pipe stuck on top of that. It's not pretty and it's very obviously homemade. The switch doesn't work every time. Sometimes when you mash down on it you'll get a draw and sometimes not, but then again if it ever stops working all I have to do is reorder the switch and they'll send me one cheap and I can replace it myself because it's very easily made. I imagine it'll last forever because you can just keep replacing anything that would become a problem. And you definetly wouldn't break anything more than the cart if you dropped it on cement.

I was in the same boat and ended up with the protege, though I see a chuck in the not too distant future. In the end, the one thing that swayed me away from the chuck was the button. I hear it's great... I personally think the button is ugly... and it would be too easy to set off if in my pocket. That being said, the Protege's mechanical button can be a lil' finicky from time to time. The price is the same between the two once you factor in the cost of a charger, batteries, and atty. The Protege seems to be a more 'finished product' to me... though I think it is only due to the button on the chuck. I can also say that the customer service with Puresmoker is awesome. I have dealt with them for over a year and have always been pleased with their customer service.
Protege:
Pros - everything comes together (batts, charger, atty, and unit), smaller unit, adapters available specifically for the unit, fully mechanical design (the button should never fail and has a lifetime warranty),
Cons - Fully mechanical button:oops: (can be finicky), bottom cap threading is sub-par IMO (it screws tight but the threads are rough and can be difficult to match up).

Lil' Chuck:
Pros: Customized piece! - you won't find that anywhere else; better over all warranty (1year vs. 6mo with Puresmoker)
Cons: Button sticks out; easy to activate, not 100% mechanical. Atty connector is not interchangeable (though you can purchase adapters from other sites).

Both devices have their pros and cons... and both should serve you well. The only thing I would suggest is getting a 510 tip if you are going to get a 3.7v PV.

Another option (that another poster brought up) is the ScrewDriver. The price has dropped drastically in the past few months and is now on par with all the other 3.7v PV's out there. The switch is also mechanical and should be more reliable than both the chuck and protege.
