ProVari 2.5's have a relatively low 3.5 amp limit, and in my experience Efest red and purple button top varieties have worked fine. They may not perform quite as well as my AW batteries in vape time and overall life but I haven't read of anybody having a problem in these lower amperage applications.

Would I use them in a subohm application at high wattage? No - that's where you need the LG, Sony, Panasonic and Samsung high drain high amp batteries.

This has been my experience as well. I have a few Efest red and purple 18350s in rotation drawing about 3 amps in a mini with no issues after a couple years of use. Battery life is a little less than the AWs but they work just fine.

I never thought the kink in my Vapocalypse plan was going to be the batteries
I stockpiled 18350 and 490 button top cells, I didn't believe the folks who said batteries would always be readily available. I keep about a dozen of each size in rotation, and some cells are about 2-1/2 years old now. The industry moved to mostly 18650 flat top batteries as the norm, which spurned me to get a few P3's and Classics, so there would be devices in my stash that could easily use flat top cells.

Down the road, if it becomes difficult to get batteries to work with my V2 and V2.5 ProVari's, I am prepared to remove the chip sets and top caps and make box mods with these components which could be wired to work whith whatever size cells are available. I'd even be prepared to hack the tubes and solder a lead onto the positive post and mechanically attach a solder point to the tube and mate part of the tube with a battery, I have spent some time imagining a side by side wood/steel hybrid mod fashioned from a partial ProVi tube and chipset.

Eeek! we have a lovely guy here that sells authentic Batterys on Ebay - he is a trusted supplier for Vapers here but I guess he doesn't know Provari's. I am going to email him your comments. But now I am stuck as we have probs getting AW here too and I have only heard very bad things about efest batts :(

Efest batts are at least a 10 amp limit according to Moochs tests so they will be fine. The problem is the overstated limits Efest labels them with that make them seem good for sub ohm use.

at least I know where I can get my ProVaris modded if batteries dry up :tumble:

probably be wise to ship em a dozen at a time ... don't want to overwork ya ;)

I bookmarked that, I am in one of my broke modes right now. That is a much better price for them, compared to when I was looking at them before. :?:

KAS
That is the price without the bottom add on for using with a mini extended or 2.5. They look a bit ugly without it so I was really glad Fatman gave good advice on what to buy.
Also they will only take a 14mm Atty maximum. really happy I took the plunge and bought it even though I probably wont use it much :)

When I was looking at them before, I know they were priced around $200.00 each, which is another reason I never got one, they were the price of another Provari. I guess he appeal of a Provari Squonker, is still there.
