I'm seriously considering getting a Provari.......... I probably shouldn't since they are pricey but I have 2 Lavatubes that I love but both of them have made trips to the "tube hospital". Exchange has been easy but I'm getting tired of the problems. One malfunctioning LCD display in April, then my Chrome Tube shorts out and won't do anything but blink and shut down..... Off to the hospital again.

Now I'm considering getting a Provari maybe after next payday. My question: I have 10 batteries for the LT, 18650 1600 mAh and 2200 mAh. Can I use these batteries in the Provari if I get the 18650 extension cap? I hope so! The website is confusing to me as it says "flat-top batteries won't work". Are the AW IMR 18650's considered "flat top"?

Thanks guys. Looks like I can use 6 of my 10 batteries with the Provari. 4 of them are the Starfire 18650's that Wabbeln linked to above so I assume they won't work...... :( Well, I can live with that. The Starfire work just fine in my LT though so I can always use them there.

I'm pretty sure that the magnet in the above link would not make contact inside the Provari.
It is 9.5 mm diameter and the slight cutout on the edge of the circuit board is only about 8 mm long.
So that magnet will only make contact with the edge of the circuit board, just like a flat top battery.

RadioShack has rare earth magnets that will definitely work. 3/16" diameter, 2 for $2.49

I know it is a bit after the fact with this one but you are all big peoples so know that warranty could be at risk if not using ProVape spec. battery's.

That aside if using magnets just take a second when placing them into the Vari. Have seen a couple of meltdowns should the magnet not be centralised and make contact with the circuit board.

Would rather wave a flag than have someone device go whoops.

You are correct. I read the warning about using magnets in the Provari and believe it would void your warranty if anything goes wrong with them. With the price of this mod, sorry, but it's not worth the risk just to save 2 or 3 bucks on a battery. I ordered extra AW 18650 IMR batteries from here: AW IMR 18650 2000mAh LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery

Cheaper than the ones sold by Provape but exactly the same batteries and their shipping is FAST...... I get my orders next day from them (well, I'm only 25 miles away from them and too lazy to drive down there to get them myself... LOL). They ship same day, Priority mail, so anywhere in the US, you should get your orders in no more than 3 days........ :)

$24 is about 3 packs of cigs in NJ. I tend to think of prices for vaping equipment in terms of how many packs of cigs it cost. With analogs once you've smoked them, you got nothing. With the extension tube, at least you still have it. But I agree $24 of a hunk of metal is a lot of money as it is for 3 packs of butts. That said, I own a ProVari with the extension tube & I'm quite happy to own them.

Actually I think it's cool they have the extension cap. I ordered a Provari last week and I ordered 2 18490's and 2 18650s + extension cap. I'm glad I have the option to use the shorter batts, any less room I can take up in my pockets works, and I can still use the 650's at home.

I like the shorter version better than equipped with an extension cap.

I've used the extension cap recently at the desk for longer battery life. But most of the time it's short mode.

The 18650 and cap adds too much weight (for me).

I just finally put my Imotion to rest and ordered a mini black provari last night and I think I will keep it in the mini version and not even buy the ext cap since I have used my buddies mini and it seems to be the perfect size, and I don'r really mind having an extra battery on me if I'm going out for the day.

as for the Imotion I already took her apart and I think ill make myself a nice little box mod with 18350's that doesn't look like a personal vibrator :p

P.S. I cant wait for your show tonight Cozz!
