I've been using a DCT for a while now. With my EGO twist, I used a 1.5 ohm carto. Using a certain juice at 4.2 volts, I got the perfect vape.

When I got my provari, I switched to a 3 ohm carto and vaped the same juice. The vape was pretty good at 6 volts, but it burns through the battery pretty fast.

I'd like to know whether I should go back to lower ohm cartos for better battery life.

I'd like to know what other people are using via cartos and voltage.

Personally I would ditch the dual coils and go with single coils. I find the flavor to be much better with my choice of juices.

:thumb: This.

I ditched the Smoktek dual coils for single coils because of frequent burnt taste. (And I'm quite certain it wasn't because my carto's were dry.) I switched to the Smoktek single coils and was quite pleased....no more burnt taste and improved battery life.

I've since switched again to the Ikenvape Platinum after being highly recommended by some buddies here. They seem to allow a more clean, pure flavor and also seem to be lasting an additional 2 - 3 more tankfuls than the Smokteks. I've been using these in several IBTanks.

From what I read, the single coils are shorter than the dual coils. So, I'm not sure how I could use these with my current tanks.

Apparently, IKV is making a longer size, and may have them in stock soon.

I'd be happy to try some single coils, though I'd prefer to keep using my current tanks (45mm?)

All ideas welcome

you can buy the single coil tanks in xl sizes as well at smoktek.com.....I use them to make filling easier in a standard tank.I just wiggle the top cap off and slide it up the carto.no need for a filler tip or anything this way.

Im using 2.0 ohms but Im not concerned with battery life as much I am a cooler vape.

I know it sounds backwards but the general consensus seem to be the higher the resistance in cartos the longer the battery life.Hope that helps.

Higher omh attys and cartos draw less amps, they make your battery last longer..

Yeah, that part makes sense. I find with higher ohm cartos, I have to hold the button down longer to get a good vape. Like 10 seconds or so.

If I dial up the voltage, I hold the button down a little less.

I'm at 6 volts now, and that appears very high, according to the vape voltage/ohm chart on ECF.

Im a direct dripper with atomizers... If you want a high performance vape you should try a HH357 atty... Theres nothing like them. Cartos cant compare with an atty especially a HH357.
Dont let the price scare you, as they last a long time. I use the 3.0 ohm with my Provari.

@baditude,

What volt/ohm combo is working out for you?

I'm currently using the Ikenvape Platinum Mega (45mm) punched. I believe it is a 2.5 ohm. They are currently out-of-stock, which seems to be a recurring issue with this vendor. https://www.ikenvape.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MGAPlatP

Before that, and will be my go-to backup carto, I use the Smoktek 3.0 ohm single coils like Zapped likes. My flavors run the gammut concerning voltages used. For my fruit flavors I like around 3.4v; for my coffee flavors I like 4.0v to 5.0v depending upon my mood, and for my cinnamon I like it close to 6v. I have two of these 3ml Triple V Polypro Tank

Does anyone know what size boge cartos fit in them? I am so confused with 19mm, XL, Standard, etc.

It came with a boge carto LR with hole punch but I do not know the size. I am trying to find a different carto to put in it that has better results and more holes

Anyone know the best place to get a 1.5-3.0ml glass tank at a low price? .. that works good?
I know that people love 6ml tanks but they are too big for me.. I do not vape that much in one day so I want a smaller one

The 19mm diameter pyrex tank at IBTanked can be purchased for under $20.

http://www.ibtanked.com/

The standard size holds 1.5ml (uses a 35mm carto) and the XL size holds 2.0ml (uses a 45mm carto).

Vendor sells cartos and drip tips on site, some of the cartos are pre-punched ready for a tank. I did a review of these tanks here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/349222-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks.html ECF members added pics of their own IBTanks in the thread.

Above are images of my XL size 19mm IBTanks on my BB and Provari. Last image is of an XL and standard size IBTanked on Provari's.
