As freeatlast posted, I too sometimes get an E1 code if there is liquid on the 510 connection. That being said, my bwonze/gween is off to ProVape Hospital on Monday. It has a couple of issues, but a new one started this morning: it's giving me an Op for a Protank that vapes fine on 5 other ProVarii. Kim in Customer Service has been very helpful.

Crazy update: apparently the ProVari fairies I joked about last night exist! I don't know if forcing a reset by leaving the battery out overnight was the secret, or if the fairies snuck in and performed some magic, but I got up this morning and put everything back together and she's working fine. No idea why, I didn't do anything different. I guess I will use it today with half an eye on the misbehaving thing and see if it decides to go wonky again. At least all is good for now.

I feel like I should send a get well soon card! As my new bad girl has proven, these things apparently do have a personality and a mind of their own. No wonder so many people have multiples....back ups for the back ups! I have other setups, but only one ProVari so far....I am thinking that's going to change sooner rather then later.
Hope your sick one is fixed and back to you soon Ocelot!

That's when I get the e1 error too. When there is liquid or something on there.

Next question for the pros....can all this trouble be something to do with how it's reading the ohms resistance on the carto's ? It's reading 2.8 resistance on my MVP, but only 1.9 on the ProVari. A different carto reads 3.0 on the MVP and 2.0 on the ProVari. I can get it to work pretty consistently now by setting the voltage on the ProVari to 3.2, any higher causes the E1 or E8 error. Not the optimum solution for me, but it's working for now.

I would say it's something wrong with the chip. It's time to send it back to ProVape. If it makes you feel a little better, I've never heard of this happening to a ProVari.

SOMETHING is wrong...
I don't think any "regulars" here would describe the ProVari as "finicky" - and several times we've seen evidence that the resistance (and voltage) readings are an accuracy STANDARD. So unfortunately, if it's getting good battery contact, and it's getting contact with the atomizer - then something's just wrong, and you may have to send it in...
Bummer - hope you get this resolved quick and then enjoys years of troublefree vaping!

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
Thanks everyone for your help! As crazy as this may sound I'm actually glad the consensus is that there is something wrong with the ProVari, I was going a little nuts trying to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong.
You got the dubious honor of being one of the very few who have issues, I'm afraid.

Congratulations? :/

;)

There's been a surge of bad ProVari's lately, but most of the issues are due to the new glue they are using for the circuit board coming lose, allowing the circuit board to move when the button is pushed. February was a bumper crop month for this. Your issue is one I've never seen before...

In any case, all the problems were sorted out for everyone involved, and I'm sure ProVape will get you all fixed up and back to vaping on a ProVari soon. Turnaround is about 7 days. :D

999 times out of a thousand, any ProVari failures happen within the first month of ownership.

FWIW, I was looking at a mini at a shop near by and I kept getting error messages. The owner came in shortly afterwards and I asked her about it. She looked at the mini and saw an EFest battery in it. She told me the girl showing it to me put in the wrong battery. She then put an AW battery in and it worked fine. Go figure...

Well I got my first response from ProVape support, it was the probably automated "the typical reasons for an E1 error are...." message, lol! I am not blaming them for this as I'm sure 99% of the time the very reasons explained in the ProVape FAQ's are true, and I bet there are a good number of people that don't even bother reading the FAQ's before freaking out and contacting support.

I don't know if support would read it but when I responded I gave them a brief rundown of the problems again and did provide them a link to this thread.
Especially since now the problem is even worse! Every carto I put on just reads "lo" now.
Hopefully the second round of communication with tech support will go better!

Since this appears to be a never before encountered ProVari problem I will update you all when I know more; leave it to me to get the one ProVari with a never before seen issue!

Not sure if I should've "liked" this as there sure isn't much to like about my situation, but giving me "congratulations?" at least made me laugh so thanks for that!
