Hi, I've never gotten too into the hobby part of vaping. I bought a Provari Mini a couple of years ago to quit smoking, and to keep myself interested, some custom tanks from Phiniac and since have been buying 510 carts and juice and that's about it.

I started getting tired of carts/tanks leaking on hot days and such and am now shopping for a tank as they seem to be better now but thought I might like to upgrade my PV as well.

My Provari is still working great after two years and like that it's American made but I don't understand why the P3 is more expensive than Radius on their site. It looks like there are a lot more features on both since my first purchase of the Mini and was hoping for some guidance choosing one over the other.

Thanks in advance.

The Provari 2.5's are currently being discontinued and can be had for around $30.

I received a P3 about a year ago (?), and as much as I liked it I don't much use it anymore. Mainly because I don't have a tank for it that it can fire, and because my vaping preferences have changed. I now vape around 30 watts. I use a mechanical mod with a 0.6 ohm rebuildable dripper and a RX200 regulated mod with Crown tank with 0.25 ohm coils.

You might get a more detailed answer to your questions concerning the P3, Radius, and newly introduced Procyon on the Provape subforum.

I don't think I can post there yet but thank you for taking the time to view. I did read a couple threads there but nothing that caught my eye as to the justification of the price difference between Radius and P3. I did see the Procyon but looks a bit longer in length and I work outside so would rather have something that could fit in a pocket.

30 watts sounds like a lot though!!! I did notice that the P3 said it goes to 20 and the Radius to 40. The Radius is cheaper. I've been using an online 'safe vaping' chart for a couple of years and looks like I've been vaping around 7 watts. I'll have to look into this more....

Keep in mind that those old Safe Vaping Charts are only good for cartomizers.

A couple of years ago I would have agreed with you that 30 watts seems like a lot of power, but one's vaping preferences can change. Mine did. I used a Provari for most of 3 years with a cartotank. I can't imagine going back to those days now.

I don't recall the rules of the forum, but I believe that you can post anywhere on the forum after you have posted 20 messages.

I guess I'll keep posting then hahaha. Thanks for the help. At this point, just a different tank setup other than my sometimes leaky cartotanks would be great.

I hate to admit it, but cartotanks appear to be a thing of the past. Most online stores and vape shops are no longer carrying cartos or tanks.

The good thing is that the latest clearomizer tanks (Aspire Nautilus as an example) matach or surpass cartotanks, and use coils designed to work a lot like a carto.

Keep in mind that all tanks have the potential to leak. Changes in barometric pressure and extreme temperature changes causes the e-liquid to expand or contract, and it will seek any weakness in the tank to leak.

I've seen several people suggest Nautilus Mini's to people looking for a good tank for a Provari. There are several other options but I've seen that one mentioned multiple times. Can't help much with your other questions, but as mentioned the Provape subforum would be the place to ask. I actually thought they had removed the restriction on having to have a certain number of posts before you could post in other areas. Might be worth a try.

You didn't mention if you are looking for a rebuildable tank, but if you just want to buy and swap coils, check out the Kabuki. It uses the BVCs from the Aspire Nautilus (also a great tank, but mine does leak just slightly from the air adjustment ring on occasion). I really like my Kabuki, it's my go-to tank on my P3, and it would work well on your mini too. Flavor is good, coils are inexpensive, and I got mine in December and it has yet to leak a single drop.

If your not up for the price of a Kabuki, like I said, I also like my Nautilus (both mini and full size) and I have a Kanger Subtank that I use the 1.3 ohm coils in on my P3 that isn't bad, a little airy, but some like that.

I wish I knew they would be a thing of the past back when I spent 50+ on a custom Blue Glass tank with R2-D2 etched in, a black glass one with vader, and green glass with Yoda lol. They all look cool but ended up buying analog cigs on hot days cause of the leaking :-(

You and me both. At one time I had over 20 glass cartotanks, many of them custom made and costing $50 or more. Vaping can be considered a journey, and the stops along the way can be quite memorable.

I'm not interested in building at the moment and don't mind paying extra for quality so I don't have to do it too often. I will look into Kabuki. Do you like your P3? any advantage over the Radius besides smaller profile?

I'm running a 1.3ohm rayon kanger subtank build in my black provari, thats what I've been taking to work, before that it was kayfuns and before that it was protanks. Its been a great reliable unit for the 2 1/2 years of everyday use. My provari sure looks used but I call the fading of color and bottom cap nicks character.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with all of the previous suggestions of an Aspire nautilus for a quality tank and vape. I believe your current Provari would power the 1.8 ohm coils no problem. Btw, The kabuki takes the same coils as the nautilus so you could try it out with the cheaper nautilus and if it's a hit Upgrade to the much respected Kabuki. Bests- David
