My wife and I were new Vapers a year and a half ago (She quit smoking after 23 years). She took a break from vaping to have a baby and, as a result, all of our PV's sat dormant for about 6 months. We are starting up again - her kGo's are running like champs and My one year old ProVari is doing nothing. I used it almost everyday for 6 mos and now its dead one month past the one year warranty. Any Ideas??

Fresh Batts are not even causing the light to blink when I screw on the end cap.

Thanks everyone! I do have noalox, but have not applied it in a while. I will clean the connections w alcohol and see if this fixes it.

bnrk - When you say alcohol bath, you don't mean submerge it in alcohol right?

zoiDman - I don't have a volt meter, but all my batteries are showing fully charged. Maybe I will try the extended cap w the 18650 when I get home. ( I usually run it w the 18490's - I have 2, but did not check the 18650)

I think I would hang on and do an Alcohol Bath Last. If all else Fails.

Try the Extension Cap. Maybe it is the Contact with the Cap Spring.

So I am to understand this correctly - you submerge it in alcohol? That just sounds crazy!

TideGirl beat me posting the above video. :)

You can actually pour the alchohol directly into the battery tube body of the Provari. Don't worry, it will do no harm. Shake out the excess and ensure all of it has evaporated prior to putting in the battery and firing it up.

Thank you for the correction. I haven't heard that. Good to know.

I probably need to drown my Provari. Had a leaky nova bathe it overnight 2 nights ago.

Use only isopropyl,It is an excellent degreaser it is used for cleaning optical devices and electronic. It is also used as a solvent to remove the thermal paste from the CPU . It evaporates leaving no residue and does not damage the small components.

And FYI for all, don't store batteries in devices for long periods of time without use.

I was actually just going to ask the OP if they left a battery in in while it was dormant. That would be my first guess as to what went wrong.

OP, regardless, contact ProVape if the alcohol bath, cleaning the pos post and spring, and Noalox don't help. Even if they don't cover the whole bit, getting it repaired will probably be fairly inexpensive compared to the cost of a new device.

***I didn't see this specified, but I believe that only 99% pure isopropyl alcohol should be used for the alcohol shake/bath.

Do you use 98% Isopropyl or a Lower Percentage?

They say to pour alcohol inside and give it a good shaking to clean. You need to go to the Provari page and download their instructions so you do it right. Try the others first as suggested tho.
I do agree about cleaning the end cap threads, mine were gummed up and it didn't work right until I cleaned them with alcohol and wiped them really clean. bnrk
