I took my ProVari into work with me today. The whole ride into work was just fine. I get off my exit and sure enough, the light starts flashing real fast on it. I pull the battery out, pop it back in, take a rip, it's fine, then it starts flashing real off and off to the left side of the device. Same thing, pop the battery back out, back in, take a rip, it happens. The battery is not dead because I can run the CB command on it, and it shows 3.2V. It's being run on a legit AW battery from provape. I did not have the extra battery on me to check if it was it or not. Either way it's discerning, if it wasn't for my work buddy I would of been without a vape today! So I have no idea what is going on with it, but I've never seen the light flash that quickly and off to the left of the button. I also checked the spring on the bottom of the battery slot and refit it just to make sure it was making contact. And right now the mod is still on because I can get to the menu.

Now here is this thing... this battery is only 2 months old. I use the Nightcore Intellicharger and leave the batteries on there to be charged. So last night to make sure I just didn't grab my cig and run, I took it off the charger and put it on the desk. I don't think my battery is that .... this quick.

FWIW, my light is flashing right now and the light is to the left of the button, so that's probably not a contributor. :) Maybe the battery didn't fully charge? That's what it sounds like - as Thunderball said, you should always try to carry a backup battery if possible. Easier for us women who carry bags, I know, I know...

Rapid flashing & failure to fire @ 3.2v means the battery over discharge protection circuitry is working as it should.
If you verified the battery was fully charged (4.1 - 4.2 v) with a mulitmeter before you installed it, could be time for routine maintenance.

Clean the bottom cap & body threads with a qtips saturated in rubbing alcohol or PGA, scrub & check with tissue until both are spotless, a small dab of noalox on the threads after cleaning helps.
Then clean the positive battery contact inside & 510 connection while you're at it.

Maybe you got a bum battery. It happens. The good thing is that the ProVari recognized it and acted accordingly. It sucks that your 160 dollar mod can be brought to it's knees by a $12.00 battery, but at least you can get a new battery rather easily and inexpensively.

I have a vv3 in my pen cup at work for the very reason you state. If my primary vape fails at work, I have a backup with a tank of juice sitting on top of it ready to go. I take a toot on it once a day or so, just to give it some exercise.

I sometimes feel like an alcoholic, stashing little backups here and there just in case......:vapor:
