So I am going to finally break down and buy a provari mini. Anyone have some input on the differences from 2.0 and the version 2.5? Also what are some chargers people suggest for doing the 18350 and the 18490 would really like just 1 charger if possible. All my current ecigs I have all charge via USB so have never had to pick one of these up until now. Thanks.

The difference betwwn 2.0 and 2.5 is purely cosmetic. Both have the same inner electronics. The same is true between the regular Provari and the Mini. Same inner electronics. So, compare the two body styles and choose the one that most appeals to you. For myself, I prefer the newer Mini version despite it having a "busier" engraved look.

For chargers, I recommend getting what most people agree as being the best charger for years, that being the Pila. It uses a patented charging algorhythm that charges faster yet is safer and allegedly may even extend a battery's overall life expectancy. I've had one for almost a year now and couldn't be more pleased with it. Get a couple more additional spacers if you are going with the smaller batteries that the Mini uses. If you can't afford the Pila, I've heard the Xtar and Nitecore chargers are also good.

Of course, use only the button top, AW brand, IMR batteries that Provape recommends for the Provari. Never skimp quality for price with batteries and chargers.

I also recommend getting only the Provari, the battery extension cap (if you want that) and the additional warranty (if you want that) and nothing else from Provape. As much as I love the company, their accessories are overpriced and of questionable quality and consistancy. Not a fan of their cartomizers or tanks, you can do better elsewhere.

Purchase your charger and batteries from RTD Vapor. RTD Vapor AW Batteries Grab the appropriate sized plastic battery cases for safe pocket or purse storage of spare batteries. They also have one of the largest selections of inexpensive as well as high end drip tips anywhere.

Baditude,

Thank you very much for the informative post and suggestions. I personally like the 2.5 look better as well though not sure how well the wraps fit with all those dimples But regardless I think it'd fit well in the fingertips with them, have to speculate since I've never used or held either.

With the chargers you suggested is there an advised bag or something to prevent fire in a worse case scenario you would suggest? My thoughts exactly on the batteries and chargers hence asking first rather than taking any chances..I was going to risk over paying on them getting from provape just to be certain of this but will definitely look at the site you posted.

I intend to use my iclear 30s I have for now on it, may branch out later but absolutely love them on my MVP. Do you know of any recommend lanyards, pouches you'd suggest for it? I have seen some but $50 seemed a bit crazy for it. Don't need custom leather with patterns lol..just want it safe, secure, and preferably easily within reach.

Can't wait to hit the record store, sell some of my vinyl and come home to place the order for my bday present to myself.

Thanks again for the information, certainly appreciated.

Baditude made very clear answering there and i would also like something about chargers. I have been using trustfire tr001 for ages now, it worked me great like it should. Only thing that bothered me with that were the annoying noise after the batteries got full. So finally i decided to buy Nitecore charger. It seems to load my batteries ALOT faster than trustfire and also theres no annoying sounds after batteries got full. About the batteries, i have been using efest and aw ones always and only, i can't see alot difference there and since efests are like half of the price of aw one, i have like 8 efests and 5 aws just incase. Hope this helps even more :)

Many people here like the Serenity Gear flexi-lanyards for their Mini Provari's. You can see a pic of LUV SuzyQ's here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/387147-can-i-see-your-face-your-provari.html#post8797904

There is also a recent thread on this very topic here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/390408-lanyard-provari-available-online-custom-made-suggestions.html

As for the charging bags, I don't use them. If using one would make you feel safer, then by all means get one.

Hi - just popping in with a suggestion. You may want to wait on ordering a lanyard until you have the mini in your hands. They are much heavier than they appear in pictures (with a small carto tank mine weighs 5+oz). I was going to get a lanyard, but I'm looking into other options. Consider the feeling of wearing a mag light around your neck.

The tenergy charger that provape sells with the provari makes that buzzing noise too. It's not loud but if I was charging batteries next to me I'd be much more on edge than I am already. The day I can afford it ill pick up the pila that bad reccommended

Provari mini satin silver 2.5 ordered. Now working on my custom jwrap for it and waiting on serenity gear to get the flexi holster black leather back in stock for it. Will be picking up one of those to accommodate the standard and extension cap. :) For now have the default tenergy charger coming until I can get the pila direct from provape in a couple/few weeks (site says due about April 15th. Can't wait for this to get here and load on my iclear 30s. Just hope I don't need an extension to get good airflow on the mini with it. :)

I just ordered a 2.0 to replace my 1.0 that I've been using for nearly 2 years. Dropped it many times, still working great! Apparently the difference between the 2.0 and 2.5 is all cosmetic.

I use an Xtar WP2 to charge my AW 18650's. Works great, and doesn't overcharge the batteries which leads to early failure.

Sage advice, I agree 100%. I got my Pila and AW batteries at lighthound.com, they had really good prices and fast shipping.

Seriously, get the PILA charger. It is worth the $$. We use our batts as much as the pv's themselves. You want the best batts and the best charger, and PILA is pretty much one of the best chargers you can buy. I use it for 14500s, 18350s, 18490s, 18650s, etc. It can charge anything and there are spacers that come with and the rest are available for purchase (like for 18350s you need a longer extension than what comes with the PILA in the package).
