I've been vaping for like a year now, pretty much always used the KGO VVs until I got tired of replacing them so frequently so I relented to my urges and bought a Provari.

I've been playing around with it a bit, and it work's great, but every single carto I've plugged in (never dry) and done Ao with has given me a reading of Lo (I know this means too low to read). I've tested 1.5ohm and 1.8ohm single coils and 2.0ohm DCs (all I have on hand atm). While I'm sure it's possible all of the cartos I have are bad since it's only been 5 cartos that I've tested, but I was curious how low the Provari should be able to read.

I just ordered a bunch of IkenVape 2.0 and 3.0 cartos, so hopefully once I get those, the readings will show up, but I just wanted to make sure there was nothing funky about my Provari.

(The unit is on, not in standby.)

I really hope they offer to cross-ship me a new one (could care less if they have to put a hold on my card). I can understand manufacturing defects happen, and they can't QC every feature on every device, but I'm gonna be ...... if I have to send it in, wait a week for them to get it refurbish it and send it back. I'd be all sorts of irked if I got stuck with a refurbished provari after owning it less than 24 hours.

The logical side of my brain recognizes that they could just swap in a brand new PCB and it would be new for all intents and purposes, but it was just irk the hell out of me. Plus waiting another week would blow. I had a hard time waiting the 4 days it took to get it.

ya sure your not going past Ao to the next prompt? LightOff?? Do any of your attys fire?

Everything fires, it's just the Ao setting that doesn't work, and I'm definitely going to the right setting, thus the device reading 1.3 with nothing connected. I can actually screw my carto tank while its reading 1.3 and it goes from 1.3 to Lo.

Sorry but definitely sounds like something is wrong... with no atty attached you should get "OP" not 1.3
Good reason for backup's, even the most reliable mod can fail.

Haven't had time to get backups, I just got it in the mail yesterday lol. I do still have my KGO-VVs, but I really don't wanna go back. I had been contemplating buying something like a SiD to use as a backup since I'm sick to death of ego style stuff.

Be sure to let us know how this works out with your return. Where did you get it and what is their return policy?

First off, clean the top connector, use some metal polish, wash with alcohol, metal polish, alcohol, do this three times! Then wash out the the entire unit with alcohol, let it dry, then take a q-tip and clean the inner top battery post a couple of times. Then make sure the spring is seated properly in the battery cap and stretch it, just a bit, but stretch it.
Hopefully one of these will fix it, and it's what CS is going to ask you to do anyway! Good luck!

I've cleaned the top connector with alcohol a few times. They did suggest using metal polish which I don't have on hand. I'm probably going to try and get some just to be sure. I don't think there is anything wrong with the battery connection as like I said, the device fires without any issue, the only problem is that the Ao function won't read anything.

Anyway, I'm still pretty sure there is a bad connection some where. I could see doing all the cleaning if it stopped working after some time, but I really don't think I should have to do all of this when it's BRAND NEW.

Meh, so I picked up some metal polish on my way home and cleaned the top cap like 4-5 times with it and alcohol earlier this morning. Unfortunately It's till reading LO. This has just not been my week for Vape Mail. First I get a defective provari (which I would like to believe is an extremely rare occurance) and then my order of juices that was supposed to arrive on Friday doesn't show up. Looking at the tracking I think they are misreading the 4 on the zipcode as a 9. :(

I really hope my luck is better since I'm supposed to be getting 3 IBTanked Tanks and a bunch of Cartos from IkenVape.

Anyway, I opened up a support case with Provari yesterday. Waiting for their response now that I have tested cleaning it thoroughly. I will update once I find out more.

Be sure to ask them for a new one and make them pay the shipping...you shouldn't have to for a new defective product. I don't know how their customer service is...

Their customer service is top notch! I can assure you of that personally!
Amnesia will have to pay to send it in, sorry, that's the way it is, then they will examine it. Once examined, to make sure it wasn't user induced, which I gather it wasn't, they will fix or replace it and ship it back. If they conclude it wasn't caused by the user I'm quite certain they will reimburse them for the shipping. It will be gone for about a week, at most.

I definitely asked for them to cross ship me a new one, and I would at least like to think they won't have a problem with it. I told them I am fine with them putting a hold on my card (since I could see them being worried I was trying to pull some sort of BS scam) and that I don't mind paying the shipping back if needed, but I asked if they could send me a label since I don't have a car or printer, so it would be a hassle to get a label myself.

I really hope they don't give me any trouble as I really like the provari and was already considering getting a Mini down the road (or a V3 whenever that may happen), but I'd definitely think about just returning it and holding out for one of the DNA-20 tubes like the Futura if they give me a hard time.

For what it's worth I have always heard great things about ProVape which was a big part of the reason I went with the Provari to begin with, so much more convenient than some chinese mod with a 30 day "warranty" from the vendor.

I don't think it should be a problem, since the warranty as listed on their site says:

The ProVari's electronics are covered by our 1-Year warranty from the date of purchase by the original end-use purchaser. ProVape warrants that this product, when delivered to you in new condition in the original packaging and used under normal conditions is free from any defects in manufacturing, material and workmanship.

It's pretty explicit that they warrant that when new the device will be without defects. I totally understand it's impossible for them to catch every little issue and at this point while I'm a bit bummed, I get it and I'm not mad.

But I guess right now I just have to wait and see.
