You said you like cartos. You didn't say which ones you use. Mentionable about the provari is that it's not completely friendly with the standard smoke tech dual coil cartos.. so if you have a stock of those, that might influence your decision.

The Carto's that I use are Boge LR

Hi Shannon,

Here is my thread from back a while.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/mods-discussion/250440-siver-bullet-provari.html

Here is my first post about the ProVari I got. (skip over the part about the tank if you don't use them and go down to where I talk about the VV)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ods-discussion/251355-6-hours-my-provari.html

I know people say they don't take there ProVari out because of 'scratching it, or whatever'. To the contrary, I will now use nothing but my ProVari. I am going to have to get another one for my backup. I'm looking at that gold one. :) Now that one I might save for special occasions.

The Variable voltage is everything.

I use boge in both lr and Sr and also the 1.8 from ccv on my provari and so does the ol lady. We even have a back up unit that is just sitting in case something happened and one had to go back for repair. We take them every were we go. The satin one does not scratch easy. That's the only kind we own. I did polish mine to a shiny stainless.

Ya know I find it ironic that I have my VV, SB, 5vPT, and even my tiny SB keyring all set up to hit at the same 8watts 99% of the time.

Do I notice when the bat in a 3.7v mod drops off? Well of course, but that is why I have extra bats for them.
So, is it necessary to have a VV in order to enjoy a good vape? NO. Is it nice to have the convenience of VV available when you want it? YES.

^^^^ yeah but right now one of my provari's battery is at 3.7v and it should last me the rest of the day but if the same battery was in my 3.7v device it would be heading to the charger right about now. I spent my first year vaping unregulated mods I had 4 of them and I was constantly charging batteries just using the top of the charge 4.2 - 3.7v when the battery hit 3.7v it went to the charger its just nice using the full battery charge, I used to think the provari was just hype by a bunch of fanboys and girls but I bought my first one as a 1 year smoke free gift to myself and I really like regulated voltage so much so I sold all but 1 of my mechanical mods and bought another provari

Exactly my point, the convenience is nice. Necessity is a different thing however.
So we are back to is the convenience worth the extra $100 that the Provari costs. To many it obviously is.

For a beginner if they are willing to take the plunge having a reliable battery that will allow him to experiment is going to be a lot cheaper than buying every other battery out there.

Personally I vape at around five watts and mix my juices to taste best at that power level. So I don't need a provari and find that a regulated battery like the epower works just as well. But it took the provari to get to where I am.

Would it be complete to order the Provari Starter Kit and add an atomizer to it? Is this all I would need?

Also, opinion on best tank to get. This will be my first tank. I have read things about them leaking and would like some reviews on the best ones.

Thank you all again for all of your help everybody!!!!!!

I vote for the provari also. you might have to spend a little more initially but I feel you'll save money later on cause most of us end up buying vv mods anyway. I have several vv mods and still love the resurrector on them.. you just have to keep the voltage low but there is no need to turn it up anyway. As for tanks, I love the $5 chibi tank!

I'd go with the Liquinator tank and Boge cartos. I had one carto that lasted over a month, and I only changed it because the flavor was a little different. . . I'm positive I could have kept using it for at least another week.
