I'm thinking about trading a couple Benjamins for a Provari. I'll get it with the standard battery, a charger, and one of the cool compass-rose end-caps for two hundred and change. Add the cost of the Liquinator tank, and that will probably equal my total vapeing nut thus far.

I didn't really start out this post to carp about the money, but I'm fairly new to vapeing. In light of all the good advice I've gotten here (hat tip MadJack, Doormouse, many others), I just wanted to ask for comments from the ECF gallery before I start clicking expensive buttons.

1. Provari. Is there something else I'd be happier with. I don't think so. My mind is fairly made up, and that's hardly ever a good thing, but then again, what the heck do I know?

2. Liquinator tank. Same question as for the provari. Also, will it leak if I lay it down, turn it upside down, etc.? Can you replace the carto in it? Do you HAVE to replace the carto in it? Does it even HAVE a freaking carto in it?

3. batteries - I could order the 2500 mAh and the extender cap, but I like the compas rose design and I'm not fond of the extension cap and spacer ring arrangement. The spacer looks like it would break up the aesthetics of the thing. I could always just get a spare 1100 mAh. Should I get a spare? Are these the batteries that they sell at Bass Pro Shops for high end flashlights? Are there better sources? I'm assuming you have to pull the battery and put it in a charger.

4. Great American. I'm a Great American, but I think getting a ProVari will make me even greater. Will it? Am I a great American or what?

Thanks in advance,

SF

Everyone is different, but I wish I'd bought my ProVari first. It would have saved me several hundred dollars on sorta-close-but-not-quite hardware.

1. Provari. Is there something else I'd be happier with. I don't think so. My mind is fairly made up, and that's hardly ever a good thing, but then again, what the heck do I know?

I love mine - that being said, I also bought a GLV3 Mini after I already had two ProVaris, and I use it quite a bit. I don't like it better than the ProVari, but it's a different vaping experience, and sometimes that's what I want.

2. Liquinator Tank.

Sorry, no help. Never used one.

3. Batteries
You'll have the best luck if you stick with the recommended batteries. Several reasons:

1) Many battery manufacturers inflate the actual power storage rating. Quelle suprise.

2) The ProVari can draw a huge amount of power, and the recommended batteries have proved they can keep up. Many others can't.

3) When a ProVari senses a voltage drop (like you'll get when you try to pull too much power too fast from an under-performing battery, or when a fully capable battery is running down) it trips the protection circuit and turns off the PV. It does this to protect both you and the battery.

And yes, I do recommend at least a second battery. I'm a little more OCD than that, and I carry 6 of them. The same way I used to carry a lighter in both pockets, and a few tucked in strategic locations in my backpack, and a couple books of matches. I used to live in terror of the day I went to light a cigarette and didn't have a way to light it. Now I do the same thing with batteries. I'm good for about 5 days of hard-core vaping, in case the zombie apocalypse happens.

Oh, and back on #2, Liquinator. Should I get the Aluminum or Stainless Steel, which would go better with a satin finish ProVari? Is the 3ml the one that has the same diameter as the ProVari? Should I get one of the blue tank-tints so I can tell the TSA guard it's just a sonic screwdriver? Do you think TSA guards know what sonic screwdrivers are?

The SS is a little more than the AL, but I have been extra-good this year, and all other things being equal, I just want the one that looks better

thats a aluminum Liquinator Tank on my provari in my avatar I wanted one that would match my end caps and I was to cheap to spring for the stainless steel, it doesn't leak and the carto fits nice and snug that being said my j-tank and homemade syringe tanks work just as well they just don't look as nice and yes you have to replace the carto I buy boge cartos in bulk and make the cut with a dremel.

Before I got my Provari, I did a bunch of ECF Google searches for AW IMR batteries. I couldn't find anyone who really had anything bad to say about them.

I also found a few technical threads about them having a Lower Internal Resistance which is supposed to be better in VVPV’s. That and they aren’t that much more than other batteries.

So my theory is put what Provape recommends into a Provari. And if everything is purchased from Provape and there is a problem with the Provari, doesn’t seem like there should be any issue with the warrantee.

Yes you can find a battery that is 2 or 3 bucks cheaper than the AW IMR’s. But does it make sense to spend 2 Bills on a Provari and then Cheap-Out on batteries?

think of it this way if you get the batteries from provapes you are getting free shipping so they maybe a few more dollars then other sites but with the free shipping it works out to be about the same I like the provapes 2500mAh batteries they last almost 2 days

I don't use the spacer they seem to fit fine without it I took a demel and polished the santin finish off the ext end cap to match the top

I have a Provari, with a torpedo , liquinator and a big daddy and little mama tanks. Some people buy lots of mods I like having lots of tanks. I love my Provari, a great device well worth the money. I use the battery extension and I get about 2 days of steady vaping from it. As far as the liquinator goes its a good tank for sure , easy to fill very little hassle. However the drip tip is of a larger diameter than a 510. and that gets kinda annoying . Your drip tip fits to the top cap and not the cartomizer. So if you want to use a 510 drip tip it gets recessed inside the top and well looks squished. I use the liquinator caps for the bottoms of my tanks with the flat wide base and big daddy tops so I can have just one type of drip tip. This set up looks great with flat bottom and the contoured top but for the money I would go with big daddy tanks instead.

I haven't tried the M1a1 tank but its on my to get list. Hope this helps.

I like the provari + Iatty combo. The provari is the oldest mod in my collection, everything exept my VV army tanks have been sold. Buzz Pro will be sold soon, its just a cheap wanna be provari, had to give it a shot though just to compare 8)

Liquinators worked very well before I decided to pursue rebuildable attys.

The 2.0 ohm dual coils and the SS liquinator.
