OK, flame suite on, I own a Provari passthrough AND LOVE IT. The best thing I like about the PT is that it puts out a consistent 4.5v that fires your atty unlike any battery. I mean it makes the Provari hit like a freight train all day (or night). No longer do I have to get up and fetch another battery:)
Provape took an intrusting approach to this design. On the house kit the AC brick steps the current to DC 12v, then the screw in tube takes it down to 4.5. By doing this you loose zero amperage to the atty, it really makes the Provari perform. The car adapter is a straight 12v out ending in a RCA jack.
I always carry backup, by keeping the PT screwed into one unit I now have one home/car/office PV and one portable battery powered PV. It's working out better than expected.
Now the con; the power shoots straight out the bottom. Not only do you need the 45 angle adapter, the only way to stand the PU upright is with the $25 wood block:( and I sure 'aint carrying one around and definitely not buying several for home & office. But I think I found a solution... Yes, I just ordered another PT and will be adapting one into the Tatroe base I found online. If Tatroe or better yet Provape wants to make it, PLEASE DO I'm in.
IMO the Provape passthrough is one of the best vape purchases I've made. Highly recommended.

Finally a review....I still dont know what you mean...Provari's hit the same through out the battery charge...the first hit is the same as the last hit, thats what VV is all about...consistant regulated power....Im using the battery I put in yesterday morning and it hits the same as it did yesterday....set at 5.0 volts and delivers 5.0 volts to the atty....

I beg to differ... I really can tell when a battery is fading. I have a couple coworkers all with Provaries and they say the same... we even had a "unscientific" blind test awhile back, name the Cb... 3.7v 3.5v... if paying attention, more often than not, you will notice the fade.

Hmmmm I will have to drain a bettery low ---- vape it then switch to a fresh one and see if I can tell the difference... I bet it will be barley noticecable..... I just cant be tied down to a cord............

Im thinking of getting one of these soon and will post a review as well.

No it's the same through the charge. Watch pbusardo's provari video. I can switch from dead to full and no difference. The only drop is just as it dies. No advantage to being plugged in

I know this is correct, I think some passthru owners are just tring to justify the cost and the cord...............:2cool:
Glad you like it. I guess you can only do so much with a battery to keep the amps up. Wired always seems much better.I still use a plug in beard shaver and my cheap plug in drill goes much better than a batt.
That because your shaver does not have a boost circuit.....
Edit: I just replaced my battery with a fresh.....wow what difference.....NOT!!! Same vape.....

I go through 3 Orbtronic 2250mAh 18650s a day. I'm a gunsmith (and a glassblower/flame worker) and work at home. A lot of gunsmithing is looking at components and 'figuring', therefor I chain vape quite a bit. So a PT will benefit me. Sure, it's expensive. But so is a ProVari. Pay to play and all that.

My workbench has multiple plugs so I thought 'what the hell?". I ordered one yesterday along with the extension. It's already shipped and I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'll give a my thoughts after I get it and use it for a bit.

Just bought the Provari Pass Thru with extra wallpowerunit and extensioncable in a EU-vapeshop. Will get it in next week. Main reason is that it seems most cost-effective in time for me:

Have 2 older Provari “large” for 18500 batts and now 2 Provari mini for carrying around with me in the house and for out and about. From now on only need to buy 18350 batts for the mini Provari’s. The large Provari’s get in future powered by the Pass-Thru and will stay only near my computer and the chair I often sit in. From now on I don’t need to buy anymore 18500 batts for them and within about 3 yrs it’s break even point in costs + don’t have to charge batts so often anymore. Good chance in the long run it’s saving me money, if it’s a good quality product, as I expect.

I didn't read this thread til after I pulled the trigger. I bought one in April, although I didn't receive it til May.
First one went back as the extension cord was the wrong one....too short. The second one just quit working. The third one, I just put in for another replacement. The problem (as last time, appears to be in the connection right where the extension cord plugs into the Provari.) I have never soldered, but there must be you Tube videos where I could learn. I don't move the pass-thru around, I don't tug on the cord
A pass-thru is perfect for me as I'm home all day. Thought I would save some money on batteries in the long run....it's just there hasn't been any long run. The initial cost, which is very high, along with all these returns are expensive and frustrating. :(

Save money, your kidding right? I am using a pair of AW IMR 18650 batteries that have been in use DAILY for the last 17 months and they still last me a full day plus..............charged on a Pila charger... No one is going to tie me down to a pass thru cord...!

I use PT's for the convenience of charging. Sit N Go's though, not a true PT like this is. I would buy this as a Sit n Go, if the battery were replaceable, and preferably in aluminum. I'd be happy to pay $30 a year for a replaceable battery for it.

I think it's silly to pay a premium price for a quality PV and have to play with flashlight batteries. For me.

I am stuck at a desk for 12h/day minimum. Have both the PT and 18650 batteries and use them all.

There are two things about the PT I note.

    1. It gets warm, when I pick it up I actually notice it, not hot but warm. I may really like this in the winter months.
    2. The choice of using an RCA connector… WT* (not Welcome To Facebook). Granted I understand the decision to use the male end on the PV to minimize the chance of a short on the power side when disconnected. But there are so many other choices available for a connector.
    3. As it is right now, you need a special block or some other contraption to leave it stood up while on the PT. I don't use tanks so there is minimal concern for me of leaking, but if I did this would be another inconvenience.

ok, that was 3 things. They should redesign this, especially the connectors.

i have one at home and one for car, i'm thinking of buying another one. i must say that is a smart solution and high-quality as ProVape can do.
    thanks ProVape.

an intelligent but very high price. It is unfortunate that if you buy the kit will come with car charger instead of the adapter. There are more people using it at home than in the car!
I would buy it but I have seen that the total would be 72 € for the kit plus 36 € the power adapter. A very high price. Maybe they should consider lowering the price if only the power adapter ...

A price quite expensive for what it is (I refer to the power adapter).
