Hi guys. My first post so forgive me if this has been discussed at length. Received a provari provape yesterday, and got to say I'm pretty underwhelmed! Was expecting so much more for my £260. I'm using it with the AW IMR 18650 battery (and extender), and have an aspire nautilus on top.
It just seems pretty weak. I was expecting massive clouds of vape. I have the voltage at 4.5 (5v and above causes E1 message). Before this i was using the aspire nautilus mini on top of a itwist battery and i wouldn't say the provari was more powerful, if anything I'd say it was weaker. I get that it's only day 2 and I'm still finding my way around it. Anyone got any experience/tips on settings etc?
Thanks in advance

Hi Adam.

I have a ProVari and I can assure you that it's more powerful and more accurate than an eGo-class battery.

My first guess would be that there is something wrong with your Nautilus coil--there have been many complaints about them. What is the resistance of your coil? Is it a single or a dual coil? Is your clearomizer put together correctly? Are you perhaps over-tightening it on your ProVari? There may be a lot of reasons why you're not getting a great vape, but I doubt that your ProVari is at fault.

If your looking for "massive clouds" look at your topper, not the Provari! The Provari is just a metal battery holder with a circuit board in it. A very NICE one at that! I've never had a more consistent vape from fresh battery to dead from any other mod I've owned. I've never had a minutes trouble out of it in the almost year that I've owned it. You need to try another type of topper like and RBA or RDA.

That's kind of like blaming the club for you not being able to hit a golf ball straight.

A regulated mod and a clearo aren't a cloud chasing set up...

this!

provaris are not intended to be cloud makers. they are regulated in many respects (such as the lowest ohm load they will fire at, how many watts/volts they will fire at, etc...) but that is why people like them so much. (consistent hits, smooth firing of battery, easy adjustability of power, etc...)

you can get a cloud chasing setup for 40-50 bucks plus batteries.. (one of the tube mech clones and an rda) but then you have to do the work of making the coils at the right resistance, knowing when its time to change batts, and other little details.

myself? id rather do that work and chase clouds.. provaris hold no interest to me at all... BUT they are great devices for what they are (regulated mods)

I have a provari v2.5 that I use with an aspire mini/BVC and it works extremely well. One thing you have to understand is that it is definitely not a cloud chasing set up in the least nor was it meant to be. The provari is great but if you are looking for a cloud chaser then look into getting a mech or a vv/vw device that is capable of putting out 30 or more watts along with an RBA/RDA.

Enjoy the provari for what it is. An extremely well built, easy to use device that works flawlessly and can take a beating.

hey adam, the aspire has an ohm rating of about 1.8 ohms on their coils so its a bit of a slow fire from i've noticed from mine,i have an 18650 an more than a few 26650 mech mods..i prefer the true RBAs because i get that hard hitting major vape from those..the aspire is more for beginers in my opinion..that provari is suppose to hit like a beast..if u have a coil tester/reader hook the aspire up an see what the ohms read an then do the math for voltage rating that may help..but if u want clouds you need a true RBA or RDA if you want to drip..i use both but enjoy the whole tank idea an not having to constantly add juice after 4 pulls on the rebuildable dripers.you get way more flavor with them but i cant drip an drive so i use a tank version for simplicity..

The Provari is that expensive because like all other crazy expensive authentic mec mods/box mods you see out there; they are machined in the USA. So naturally cost of the product is going to be higher because of higher production cost. That being said the provari is awesome! Its consistency and is very well built. But it will not give you the RIDICULOUS CLOUDS without an RDA on top of it.

If you take very long draws off your nautilus you will of course produce more vapor. Also take a look at the pg/vg ratio on the juice your using. The higher vg will produce more vapor but wont wick as well. PG= Flavor VG=Vapor. Also set the nautilus on the biggest airflow option.

If none of the above help try to clean your coil by placing it in alcohol for 15 minutes then rinsing and letting it air dry. Or just replace the whole coil :toast:

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need anything else!

Adam, I couldn't agree more to what all these experienced vapers say. Now that you've upgraded your battery, upgrade your topper...upgrade your juice...good vaping is in finding the "right" (for YOU) combination of Battery, Topper and Juice. If you are a new Vaper (and not just new to ECF, "Welcome" by the way)...you might try a Nautilus or a Kanger AaeroTank...both are "easy"...if you are ready to try something more "advanced" try rebuilding your own coils (something my son does...but I'm too arthritic to fool with it!) Son (and lots of other vapers) recommend K-Fun.

Most of all, don't be discouraged. I bought my first ProVari in May, 2012, I've never had a problem with it, and it will last me years and years more...I sure WISH I had back all the money I wasted on cig-alikes (every color of the rainbow, with and without glowing crystals on the end...egos, knock-off egos, spinners, and an assortment of cheap old things that never worked...right out of the box...then there are the cartos, the carto tanks and stuff imported from Greece that are "old technology"...the "old" way of doing things...but through all the experiments and "cloud chasing", my old ProVari, which delivered the same toke, time after time, has been my standard benchmark...the final arbiter of all experiment fails...

Good luck! Keep on vaping!!
