I'm thinking about buying a ProVari, but I have a couple of questions. Kind of afraid to ask at ECF, ProVari is so widely coveted! lol! But my first question is this: Once you've turned the ProVari on, does it stay on? Kind of like an automatic battery, or do you still push the button when you want to vape, like an eGo manual? I currently have an eGo, and I like the fact that I can take a few puffs and sit the thing down for awhile, and then when I want to vape some more, I just press the button again. Is the ProVari like that, or do you have to continually press the button so many times to turn it on and off? If you turn it on, and leave it on, does that drain the battery while it's sitting idle? And does that make it continually heat your cartomizer until you turn it off? I've been doing alot of reading about the ProVari, but have found nothing so far that addresses and answers this question for me.

Second question. Cartomizers.
From what I've been reading, I can use dual coil cartomizers on this, correct? At what ohm? 2.5? 3.0? Both?

Third question. Cracking tanks.
Doing some reading, and sounds like tanks still have a tendency to crack using certain juices. I vape mostly fruit and cinnamon flavors. Read where you can buy a 'littl momma' tank and buy a stainless steel sleeve to put over it to keep it from cracking. Correct? How does that sleeve fit over the tank? Does it slide over the tank?, or are you replacing the plastic part with the stainless steel?

Have gone from a Blu to an eGo, and now MAYBE a ProVari, so be gentle with me, I'm still a "babe in the woods".

Hi, I'm a 4 day old Provari owner. I'll do my best to answer your questions, and I'm sure others will as well.

It only uses the battery when you hold the button down. So you press, vape and release. Yes, there is an option to turn off the whole unit, but that's really to prevent accidental activation while in your pocket, or purse etc.. It's just like your manual egGo in that respect.

Yes, you can use dual coil carto's and at both those levels and even lower levels like 1.5. I use 2.5 ohm dual coils. 3 ohm single and have a pile of 1.5 ohm dual coil. Punched, unpunched and all combinations. There are several posts on voltages to use with different carts in this section, so I'll leave that to those :)

I'm a coffee caramely nutty kind of vaper myself, but I've heard of cinamon having effects on certain types of tanks. Not sure it was cracking, more a reaction with the material. Personally I haven't had an issue with any of the 5 I own. But I did just get a Who's Your Daddy?" Stainless Steel Window Tank from Big Daddy Vapor and it's a steel case wrapped round a clear inner. Mainly because it matches the Provari satin finish nicely!

In the end, it's a choice we have to make outselves. Personally I think it was the second best one I made in a long time lol. First was stopping smoking!

I did a heck of a lot of reading on the Provari / Lavatube / Buzz and many other options before I settled on the Provari. Personally I think the cost is totally worth it. The build is excellent. The menu is simplicity itself after only 2 uses and the performance is out of this world.

There's a link to a video review by PBusardo in one of the threads on this page. If you haven't, I suggest watching that.

Thanks for your post! Yes, I saw that video...had to laugh at his intro! Too funny!
I'm getting pretty worried about these eGo batteries I'm using. I was just charging a 900 mah that I've only had for less than a month, and when charging it this morning on a legit eGo wall charger, it started getting pretty hot, so I've disconnected it from the wall and charger. It's not like this is the only battery I have. I have 4 batteries that I use in rotation. I'm pretty sure now, thanks to your comments that I'll be getting a ProVari soon.

Still not completely clear about the tanks. Can you buy those with the stainless steel sleeve already on the tank? If so, would you please give me a link? Thanks!

Yup, those are the ones. Maybe on the more expensive side, and they can be a little tough to actually get on the carto sometimes. I grabbed a slap yo mamma from the same site. It's a cap? tool? It's a drip-tip like end basically that goes in the end of the carto before you slide it through.. But if you have narrow drip tips that are the exact same size as the carto they can be used to perform the same function.

There might be cheaper alternatives out there. Personally I liked the finish :) And as they say, SAFE WITH ALL JUICES

Please toss the hot battery. Since I've went with only running a Boge 2.0, I've never had a hot battery. The lower you go on OHM's, the greater chance you'll have that you'll overheat the battery. IMHO

On a Provari, it's common to use a 3.0 Ohm. They operate like your ego, push the button to operate. A bigger Battery isn't necessarily going to get you off of ciggies- sometimes that takes time- sometimes a few months for us longtime smokers.

The Provari will be fine with a 2.5 or 3.0 dual coil.

Most newer, thicker tanks resist cracking. You can try a cheap one first to see if you like them-http://momandpopvaporshop.com/tanks/

You won't regret the Provari, seriously. I'm glad PBusardo made a video on it actually, he really shows how it is superior to most VV mods out there. The button thing has been answered by above posters and so has the tank issue.

I'm just posting to give you my opinion on buying the Provari, and in my case it's a thumbs up. They have a mini Provari too which is also something to consider. Same technology, smaller form factor.

Kay, you are going to love the ProVari. I use tanks with dual coil cartomizers almost exclusively, and they perform incredibly well. You will find a sweet spot of your own, but I generally like the 2.5 ohm dual coil cartos running at 5.5v for most of my juices. After a lot of searching, I have found a juice vendor that I love (rawr!), and usually rotate between 4 of their flavors. Have had zero problems with cracked or fogged tanks with his stuff.

I did have an unfortunate experience with one type of juice - it was a cinnamon bun thing from Mrs. T. Not only did it take forever and a day to arrive, the flavor wasn't really good and it ended up frosting two tanks. It may have been good to somebody, but it just wasn't my cup of tea flavor wise.

Congratulations again on the new purchase and let us know if you have any other questions once it comes in!
