Hey all,

Just got a shiny new ProVari. It's great so far, but I'm having an error issue. I've already contacted ProVape as I know that's the best plan of action but I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight. I'm using SmokeTech's 1.5-2.0 ohm dual coil cartos. They work great from 3.3-4.0 volts, but anything over that and I get an error message ("E2"- which in the manual is described as 'current limit exceeded- if this error appears, lower the voltage on the device or use a higher resistance atomizer...'). I've read in many places that the SmokTech's can be used up to 6.0v with no problem. Does anyone know why my ProVari is displaying that message? Perhaps it's not actually recommended to use a LR atty/carto/whatever at higher voltages than that... but I don't think that's the case. Obviously, ideally it would be good to try it with another resistance of atomizer/carto but right now I don't have that option because I'm strapped for cash after the ProVari purchase and the SmokTech's are the only thing I have right now so it would be great if I could get them to work!

Thanks in advance.

without fully reading your post, i will tell you the Vari, and other "smart" pv's are programmed to shut off if the attys' are too low resistance....
not sure about how low the Darwin will go, and the Buzz ... but the Vari is for 2.0 or more... up to about 4.+ Ohm...
the idea is that LR's in general are for 3.7 pv's to simulate what you get from a 2.+ and up Ohm atty on a higher voltage... in other words LR's are for 3.7's.
BUt the Dual COil has been able to take it higher and still work... only on pv's that are not protected as the Vari is...
Look for the 2.5 Ohm dual coil carto...

If you have a VV unit there is zero need for a LR atty. ;)
Wanna bet? So using a VV device means you now have to give up your favorite atties and cartos?

We don't vape watts. Many manufacturers make the same style/ohms yet folks have an obvious preference. Cisco has made many converts with atties that look just like the competition yet he can sell his at a premium all day long. The dual coils the OP mentioned are another good example, folks like many things about them. Cranking up the volts on some SLB carto to watts match them doesn't make them the same, not even close.

Watts is the ONLY thing you vape at. You chose the voltage and resistance but we are splitting hairs. (Well unless you have a Darwin I suppose) ;)

For me it how much air can flow and if the atty or cart can maintain that wattage though the inhale. I have quite a few LR atty and cartos and am not sold, in the least, on this ideal.
