Gonna be ordering my Provari today or tomorrow. Was wondering about the tank ring that Provape sells. How necessary is it??? Trying to keep my costs down and if this is not necessary I will pass on it.
The tank ring is merely a beauty ring for a more flush look with different tanks. It works best with a 22mm diameter tank (same diameter as the Provari). The first Provari on the left has a beauty ring and the next two do not.
The ring just sits over the tapered cone top of the Provari (its not screwed in) and is held in place by the tank on top of it. It fits loosely so that the ring does not obstruct airflow to the atomizer, and also has grooves in the top to further aid airflow.
I'd like to invite you to come join other Provari owners in the Provape forum where we all hang out. You can ask further questions about the Provari there, too. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/
They are cosmetic only. If you are using a ProTank and have airflow issues when you tighten down the ProTank to the device, then it may be helpful.
Otherwise it is just something that makes your ProVari look nicer when you have a Kayfun on it. Before you get one, make sure your Kayfun has an adjustable 510 post. If it does not, the ring may actually prevent proper contact of your atty to the provari.
But if you do have an adjustable post on your atty, the ring sure does look sweet. Especially on a satin silver....
It is not Necessary at all. It is only cosmetic. If the slope at the top bothers you then add a ring.
I have not had any of my 510 tanks screw all the way down on my provari. That is 3 Kayfun's an Aspire Nautilus and an Eleaf iJust. So any ring I might use would just bounce around, be loose.
Yes and No. IIRC the ZMax has replaceable top sections that screws on. These Rings for the Provari just Sit on the sloped section, not fastened at all.
When changing toppers, mine often goes flying off into the ether, making me go hunt it down. It's annoying. It looks better with my KFL+ though. It does not fit tightly, however, making a slight bit of rattle when the top is screwed down.
To summarize, it looks better with some tops but otherwise is a pain in the rear.
I have one and like it a lot. with my kayfun it will sill spin but no rattle and looks flush. with the nautilus and mega they screw down tight with the ring and fire fine. a bonus with those two since it screws down tight you can adjust the air flow without having the tank loosen.
