Provari, Tanks, & 100% VG

I have decided to keep chugging along and build my kit as I go until it's complete... I've decided to go with a Provari/tank setup... I feel like I have been doing my research, but still had a few questions.

(1) If you plan on using 100% VG & Ikenvape's Carts are only punched twice is that an issue?
(2) With the Provari will I just want to stick with 3.0 ohm?
(3) Do people just keep a supply of 2 & 3 hole Cart on hand for the different vg/pg % juices?

Thanks for all the help so far! Since I have never experienced anything else, I will just stick with the Blu 100 battery and refill carts until this project is complete. I'll say that there seems to be a lot of 'out of stock' & such out there.

I'll just pick up what I can until it is done. :)

(1) Personally, I've had an issue with carto's and thick juices. I find my self punching at least 3 holes for a 100%vg juice. You can try two holes with the ikenvape carto's and see if it works. I vape out of boge carto's and I need three holes.
(2) That is your personal preference. As you know, the higher the resistance, the higher your voltage level can be. So if you like to vape at high voltage, stick with 3 Ohms
(3) Personally I have a carto punch tool so I have a supply of unpunched carto's. It gives me the option make the holes at where I need them to be.

this is what i use.
provari.
100% VG
chain vaping
2 hole and 3 hole cartos with a tank.
viva nova's with metal tanks. not the knock offs.
careful on punching cartos they will flood.
if you steadily hear gurgling, you punched too much, or you're not at a high enough voltage to vaporize all the juice on the head.
i use 1.5 - 2.4 ohm cartos
2.8 ohm heads on a nova with 1 Large wick
carto and tank has a better and cleaner taste.
play with your voltage 'till you get the best taste.
i run from 4.6v - 5.3v depending on which tank i'm using.
just play with it. don't be afraid. the worst you'll do is blow a carto, or burn a head.

I use Ikenvape Platinum (2.5 ohm) and Ikenvape 510 Fusions (3.0 ohm) on my Provari. These carto resistances will give you the full range of voltages to use on your Provari.

I get the Punched! Ikenvapes with two laser-drilled holes. I've not had any issues with any flavor other than Boba's Bounty.

It's my personal opinion that no wicked delivery device will be able to handle Boba's for more than a tankful of juice. Not only is it particularly thick, but it has a high percentage of particulate matter which tends to clog the polyfill of cartos no matter how many holes you put in the cartomizer. I believe if you vape for Boba's, you need to use a drip atomizer or a bottom feeding box mod like a Reo.

Just in case you can't get a hold of some Ikenvapes (frequently out-of-stock), here's a list of vendors that sell pre-punched, single coil cartomizers: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nched-single-coil-cartomizers-cartotanks.html

Thanks for the info!

Well, I have been busy and making a few purchases... I had caught the Ikenvape punched fusions and grabbed several. I ordered a couple of tanks from IBTanked along with some drip tips. .....Last night I broke down and ordered the Provari mini. *ouch*

I am having issues with inserting the drip tips into the cartos. Feels like I having to use too much pressure. The tips are all stainless. Was just messing with them while waiting on my provari. Also ordered some more juice....

I have been using 95% VG and 5% distilled water for nearly a year with Smoktech XL cartos. I don't use a carto tank (yet). This is very thick juice and requires some help to saturate a brand new carto. I have to give the carto thermometer shakes to force the juice into the dry filler of a brand new carto. I do this only for the first dozen or so drops. After that the juice dripped into the filler soaks in fine on it's own.

I'll probably upgrade to a small carto tank in several weeks. Lots of vapers have posted about their success with high percent VG juice with tanks. It's just a matter of finding the right number or sizing of the carto holes to do the job for the juice and tank.

Lube the o-ring on the drip tip with a little juice. That may help Sometimes drip tips don't fit exactly right. It's one of those trial and error things. The o-rings may have been slightly oversized, too.

UncleGDogg . . . I have not had the opportunity to use the IKen cartos. They are never available when I check the site.

What I can tell you about my prothingy and my cartotanks is that, I have had no issues vaping Johnson Creek's Ranier eliquid nor their Solstice eliquid, which are both 100% VG. I have been use both the Boge and Smok cartos. They have ranged from 2.5 ohms and 3.0 ohms. What I have done, if deemed necessary, is use a punch tool to enlarge the existing carto holes just a tiny bit to promote better wicking.

I'm not using a Provari, but that won't really make any difference to the cartotank wicking 100% VG. I have been using a clearo so far, but I miss my cartotanks! I have had no luck with standard pre-punched cartos, so a Line Tap Valve is on it's way. I assume the 2 hole laser 'pre-punched' cartos have 1mm holes? Adding another small hole shouldn't make as much difference as making the existing holes larger. I suppose this is going to be trial and error, so I will try a used but thoroughly cleaned carto to start with. Should I shoot for 1.5 or 2mm?

Provari the best!

Further proof that when you put 'Provari' in your thread title, you get responses like this. I might not have a Provari yet, but at least I read the thread before I posted, as this subject is very important to vaping in my personal future. What are 100% VG users experience with cartotank hole sizes? Please inform us!

I received my bullet piercing valve today! Best $6.25 I have spent on vaping so far. I can't measure the width of the 2 holes I made in my Boge XL carto, but they look like twice the size of the laser punched holes from a Boge F16 carto, which I have heard are 1mm. After filling the carto and the tank, it took a few pulls before it started to hit right, but now it's working as well or better than my clearo, and I am quite pleased. I never chain vape more than 3 pulls in a row, so I don't know how well that might work.

My conclusion, if you want to vape 100% VG in a cartotank using Boge cartos, you're going to want to punch a couple of holes in the carto yourself. The laser punched holes are not big enough. That's my 2 cents, YMMV of course.
