Hi guys.
I had a provari for awhile I really like it but after playing with rebuildable a and drippers I ventured into mechs.
After an incident with a sentinel I bought where the mod and battery got super hot after one fire I am debating if I should go back to a provari. I'm not planning to build under 1.2. And I seem to be having the worse of luck with mechs.

Any suggestions or should I just go back .

Id say if you are worried about the sentinel, don't use the sentinel.. mod heating is most likely going to be due to that particular mods materials and design.. if you had a bad experience with one mech I wouldn't just assume you are going to have the same problem with another mech.. I have never had any button heating, mod heating, or battery heating, with my mech.. did you make sure you didn't have a short? Was it vaping at all? Did you try rebuilding your topper? Did you try a different topper? Feel free to go back to the provari if thats what suits you but I wouldn't give up on mechs altogether because of this one incident.. also what battery were you using and what resistance were you using on your topper..

I use both for different reasons. I love my mechs since I do enjoy a bottom button and for the overall shorter length of the PV. I build my coils to suit and I can't beat the vape out of them. But, I can't get rid of my Provari. I looooove it, and it gives you peace of mind and the same stellar performance from the first press of the fire button on a freshly charged battery, all the way till it blinks that it's dead. If you build 1.2ohm or above, you have no need to go to a mech unless you want to. It's your call, and I'll agree with you either way.

I switch back & forth between my mechs and my Provari. I primarily use my Mechs for builds that are under 1.1-1.2 ohms. My kayfuns are all built around 1.3 Ohms, so they work perfectly on the Provari. But I also enjoy dripping, so I build my drippers with dual coils around 0.6-0.7 Ohms, which fire great on a mech. I guess it depends on what kind of mood I'm in...

1.2 is 14.7 watt on a fresh battery with no voltage drop. provari does 14.5. I would say stick to the provari, since you already have one and it makes you more comfortable.
Mechs give an incredible vape if you subohm. for example, I had a sweet .32 quad that put out the most flavorful fog ever. now that atty has a .24 quad in it that doesn't taste as good, but scares animals and children when I exhale. but if you are planning to stay in the lower wattage range, variable devices have their perks that are very hard to ignore

I'm super perplexed why my sentinel is getting hot. The first incident happens when I first got . And I was sure it was because I was new to building and my taifun had a short. Since then I was using a fuse with my sentinel no problem. Last night I took out the fuse and put on my aerotank thinking I would be safe and it happened again!!!
It wasn't the tank cause I'm still using it on my turtle ship
