I am in the market for a Provari V2. I have a buddy of mine that wants to sell me his Provari V1 for $75. This includes the Provari and and extension cap. It does not include batteries, chargers, or anything else. I am still new to all of this and I was not sure if this deal sounds good or if I should just hold out for a V2. Any opinion you have on the Provari V1 or the price he is offering would be great.

That's a very good price even for a first edition of a Provari (if its in working order). It's likely to be 3 - 4 years old, but they hold up well and retain their resale value well, too. If no batteries are included, you'll need AW IMR button top batteries. You can choose 18490 size or for longer battery time (with the extension battery cap) the 18650 size batteries. I'd suggest an Xtar WPII 2 or Nitecore Intellicharger i2 as your charger.

An original Provari will have a 2.5 amp limit. It can be upgraded by Provape with a 3.5 amp circuit board for $20 should you wish to. A version 3 Provari is in the works, probably due to be on the market by the end of this year.

Why Provari?
