The provari is VW if you have a calculator.

I like VW sometimes but the whole set it and forget it thing is nonsense. vaping a protank with a stock coil at 10 watts may taste burnt, take off the protank with your PV still set at the 10 watt setting and attach a topper say with an ss mesh set up and the vape may taste weak and you have to bump it up. Different coils do not act the same.

I use vw most of the time, but you're right about different coils. The same goes for different juices in the same delivery device
in my experience.

Oh boy! So you can buy four of five of these for the same price as a Provari? Good, you're going to need them so you will have something that will last that long!
I remember not long ago, the Evic was going to kill the Provari! Then the software glitches started, "Oh, you dropped it? I'm so sorry the top came off and broke the wires!" Then they added the two screws to "prevent that". Then another software glitch. Then we find out it was cycling at 103hz, an improvment, but still not as stable as the P's 800hz. AND when it came out it sold for $150!
Then we get the Cyborg, "This thing will kill the Provari! Provape is going down now that we have VW!" Well, it's $260, just for the mod, $100 more than the Provari, it's thin aluminum, not thick stainless steel, so don't drop it! It doesn't seem to have flooded the market as much as many thought it would.
Then the Zmax-Vmax-Sigeli's and so on, what versions are they on still trying to get them to work right? Sorry, when there is a new version coming out and I haven't received the one I ordered yet?
A buddy of mine wanted to start vaping, I loaned him my Provari, but he still had this fascination with VW because of all the hype on the forum. He got a Zmax, used it less than a week, sold it and started collecting more Provari's! He could tell the difference between them right away!
Everyone keeps saying Provape is lagging behind everyone else because they don't offer this or that. I say the other are still lagging behind Provape!
Who else makes a board that cycles at 800hz?
Who else makes a board that has 3 built in safeties?
Who else builds a board built to Mil-Spec?
Who else builds a VV/VW mod that you can drop from three ft onto concrete and not worry about it?
I've tried VW, not for me, I still play with mechs, a LOT, and my Provari has let me down, I got juice on the board and it corroded the board, my fault, BUT Provape fixed it, for free! Where do you send your Zmax, Vmax, or whatever else? Look at the Cyborg site sometime, I love this line! "If you have a problem please contact us and we'll see what we can do to help you!" Not that they will "just fix it", not "we have a service dept that you can send it to", but "we will do what we can". Not feeling real secure with that offer for some reason? Yeah, me neither!

Did anybody ever tell Z that he should just stop at the zenisis or zatty pro just because it was a great device and good enough for most people? How about Steve Jobs when the Apple II E came out? I have never said or even indicated they should change their customer service, or the current Provari for that matter. AGAIN, it is a great device with rocking sales and an extremely loyal customer base. I am only suggesting they use the proven hardware platform for a "do everything" type of electronic chipset. Why does that seem to be wrong to everybody? They wouldn't be taking away the provari you currently love, that would be financially irresponsible for them. But giving another provari VERSION to appeal to a different demigraphic. And why not provapes? They set the standard once, why not again?

OH ... don't get me started!!!!!
A company that is more interested in paint jobs than it is in safety & performance will become yesterdays news pretty quickly IMO.

If you want a nice VW mod thats comparable to a Provari here ya go SvoeMesto SM V3 Semovar BASE Kit - Semi-Polished - Cloud 9 Vaping

Its not any cheaper It looks kinda similar it has a nivel chip that is very nice It has a few features that out shine the Provari like gold adjustable contacts and the hybrid connection for the Kayfun But It dose not have the customer support Provape has.

This Mod mimics the Provari as it only dose VW and dose it well

DNA 20 is also nice but a different critter all together It needs two batteries IMO to make it piratical to carry around as it really sucks the juice.
I really like the everything on one screen of the DNA I would not chose a DNA over a Provari if I hade to pick just one. My Semovar is in the mail we will see it could be I might like it better but I wont be carrying it around everywhere cause its not so easy to get repaired if damaged.

I have to agree straight down the line. You hit the two PV's that are on my list, Provari and Semovar. I just got home to my new Kayfun 3.1 ES, and it is superb. My wife has my (Her) Kayfun Mini 2.1 ES, and is now loving vaping. Svoe Mesto's workmanship and quality is excellent. I am looking forward to your feedback on the Semovar. Both companies service the PV's, but you have more shipping with Svoe Mesto. I was real leary of doing the international ordering and shipping, but I have had zero issues.

DNA-20's are limited on the low power side. so they are like the Provari and Semovar, in a ways. Provari only VV, Semovar only VW, DNA-20 only higher Wattage. I might be looking closer at the Cyborg if it was in stainless, and could run at lower Wattage.

I guess Russians could say the same about Provari when it comes to shipping;-) But Russian customs always takes forever!

Im very happy with my MCM DNA 20 IMG_1008.jpg He also has above average customer support and the best thing is the profits he makes goes to some sort of special diet his daughter needs I think his mods run in the 150$ range.

    Hey, Buzzlove,

If you decide you don't like the Semovar, shoot me a PM. I would be glad to work something out with you.

I have the Mod black hole once they enter my possession they will never be available again;-) I sometimes buy 2 for a good trade Item but I would lose sleep if I got rid of something!

Has anybody noticed that I have never spoken bad about the Provari? I GET IT, HAVE ALWAYS GOT IT, AND ALWAYS WILL. It is a great, if not the best available vape product out there! I know, I know! I'm not an electrical micro engineer, I only used the DNA 20 because it's a VW only board with some features some, and I repeat some, people would like to see carried over into a better product. The symple fact is that just because somebody hasn't produced a Provari killer yet, someone eventually will. And if Provapes is the one to do it, It wouldn't be a provari killer, it would be a provari brother! They have impeccable customer service and second to none the best VV Mod out there. No they shouldn't leave it behind, but move forward along with it. I know the Vamo, SID, and others are not even close to the quality of the Provari, but at the price point, how could they be? And yes, I am saving up to be a proud new Provari owner one day so I can put on my big boy pants just like them. But that does not negate the fact that I would still like to see Provapes make another standard for themselves and the vaping world without changing the extremely high bar they have already set. Is it possible to make a "do everything chip"? I do't know, but the way technology had progressed in the vaping world, I can't believe it'll be long until someone comes close. And all I can say is that I hope it's Provapes with their impeccable customer service that produces it!

And thanks Buzzlove for the info. I will check them out.

Thanks for the link. Good to know about where the profits are used. I will keep MCM in mind. I wonder if he would do a custom wood mod if I sent him some DXF files? Do you know if he uses CNC equipment?

I am SO glad that reality in finally beginning to take shape on this subject. I was growing quite weary of the constant barrage of "Set it and forget it!"

Yes, Butters, "Nonsense" is the PERFECT word. I will be plagiarizing it, in fact. Always, of course, giving credit where it's due.

    NONSENSE! My new favorite word.

    That's good stuff, Buzzlove. :2cool:

And this is all in good fun anyway, at least that's my belief. I seriously doubt that anyone spending time here doesn't have many, many other things to worry about. If y'all are anything like me, this is nothing more than an escape from the realities that we all face on a daily basis.

As important as vaping has become in my life, at least, it remains the most trivial of issues...

So, let's have a laugh! And Baditude's awesome description of the thought process coming from the Chinese mod makers certainly fit that bill. At least it did for me. :toast:

Provari is a great pv. It delivers a consistent vapor, is sturdy, and has a great warranty. Why fix something that isn't broken? What ever they come out with in the future should be good. Provape doesn't drop a new version every couple months, and I like that :)

It dose not need to be messed with it works just fine as it is. Their success is in providing a rugged well made mod with great customer support. If that formula works no need to mess with it.

It's not messing something up to make improvements. And, it's not about coming up with something new every few months. It's about improving with technology in order to keep up with the competition. Provari could keep marketing the same model for the next 5 years while the rest of the vaping world moves forward, but I'll bet they won't let that happen. Windows 3.1 was a great O/S in its day too. But surely, XP and Win 7 have been better and more powerful. Personally I will look forward to the next version of the Provari, that's as well made and awesome as this one is ... and even more so.

Oh btw ... they use lights in baseball stadiums now too :2cool: JD

When I decided to step up to a vv device, I looked at probably 100 different makes. Then I looked at all the reviews. Something I quickly saw is that every make and model was compared to a Provari. I looked at the pics, It didn't look like anything special. So I kept looking. In all reviews that compared to a Provari, the Provari won out in every single category, except price. Then I started adding up what I had already spent on cig a likes and ego style batteries. And you know what? I could of had a Provari for less than What I already had spent on vapping. Hmm...That got me to thinking and calculating. Yep, I bought a Provari. Now one starts to add up the cost of rba's, genesiss devices, supporting supplies and hardware, and it make one realize that the price paid for a Provari is really not that high. Not only that, it's a great investment in ones health and personal satisfaction. Now if I can stop buy new rba's and genesis devices, in a few more months, this vapping hobby will pay for itself. lol. Has now been 5 months since I have smoked an analog.

Skip every 4th windows up grade and you have a reason to upgrade the rest are just to keep you spending your money on something you dont need, and Im very happy Provape dose not follow that business model.
