So I just got a few new attys in the mail about a week ago. I picked up the first 801 atty and spent my time breaking it in. It works alright, not as much vapor or th as I expected, but its doing its job. I hadn't picked up the other three 801 until today bc the first one was doing fine. I got bored at work today, and decided I'd spend the day trying to break the other three in. I tried all three, and not one of the other three worked at all. One atty produced the slightest whisp of vapor, then went completely dead, just as the oter two did.

I have no idea where the error falls; I'm relatively new to vaping, and therefore these failures could all be my fault. What I'm very surprised about is the fact that none of the remaining three work at all, and haven't worked since the day I got them. Any ideas?? I find it hard to believe that Steve would send over 3 dud attys, and I know I didn't fry them because today was their first day. Looking for some help so I don't have to send them back

Thanks

Aiden

Just to update: Tried one of the 3 dysfunctional attys. When I started using it, it was working alright; not great, but like a brand new atty that hadn't been broken in yet. It worked at this level for about 30 minutes, then stopped working entirely. No heating, no vapor...until I unscrewed it about halfway. Then it started working alright again. Not great, but manageable. The weird thing is that the atty must be extremely loose, like spinning while I'm taking a drag. Weird...any ideas?

I had the very same problem when I first got my Prodigy. It was not the attys at all, they would hit and miss until I found out it was a connection problem. The batteries fit loose in the casing and you may need to bend in your spring a bit. read the thread "Prodigy Problems".

Ya I've bent the top end of the spring inwards a bit, so that it touches the center of the bottom of the battery. I've also added some copy paper into the battery casing of the prod so that the batteries move around less, and I'm very diligent about cleaning the adapter and atty connection point. Even when my batteries are fully charged, I've been noticing that even the working attys are not producing noticeably more vapor or throat hit than my old 801 and 510 batts. I am now having problems with all 510 attys (even the ones I just purchased from ps) and all but 1 of my 801 attys (including the four I just bought from ps).

A week ago, the few functional 801 attys blew my mind on the prod. Now, the same ones that worked a week ago (or were just purchased) barely work if at all. I'm starting to feel like this whole technology is a huge waste of time and money...

What am I doing wrong?

I dont think you are doing anything wrong. You should get tons of vapor and a really great hit from the 801. I dont know about 510 as I have never used them.

Another thing to check is your battery charger. My batteries were not charging. The green light would come on so I thoguht they were charged. But when I wiggled them, the red light would come on. You may have to bend the little prongs (on the neg end of your charger).

Bend them up with a screwdriver. The batteries need to fit in the charger really tight to get a good charge. I have to bend mine up about every three or four times I use the charger. Weak batteries will keep you from getting the strong hit too. When you push your button do you hear the atty sizzle? With a fresh charge and good connections, your atty should have a good, strong sizzle with the 5v.

Hope this helps. But PLEASE dont give up on e cigs! It is probably something realy simple. The folks at Puresmoker will help you out too. When I first got mine and had problems, everyone jumped in to help. I bought 3 other pvs before I found the Prodigy and I will never go back. This thing rocks!! Get it working right and I guarantee that you will LOVE it. :p

Thanks I will definitely mess with my charger a bit.

To update once again: now the only way I get any vapor from any of my attys is by keeping them very very loose on the the adaptor. They do not work if tightened. Air flows through, but no vapor at all. Still very frustrated...just bought my first pack of analogs in weeks. I don't know what to do. Any prodigy users in the LA area want to check my ish out??
