OK here's a easy one for the booster brains. So I'm building my second 4050 mod and I'm running out of room and I need to throw a on/off switch in the mix. So my question is about the amp ratings for the switch. Seeing as how the on/off switch won't have any amps being pulled thru it when turning it off does the amp rating on the switch matter?

poland, and the brassy lands of google
For a master switch you can go with something cheapo like the ones included in battery boxes. It doesn't do any switching when firing so it really only counts as additional wiring. For a fire switch you want something with a nice rating as it switches amperage. The only caveat is that you really don't want extra resistance with lesser gauge wiring, including the master switch portion of the circuit.

Ditto what as says. Using the aa battery box as master working fine for a while now. Two frequently used boxes.

I took one apart, the solder lugs are equivalent to ~18ga wire and the slide on the switch throw also ~18ga.
Not good for switching with load but carrying load they are fine, absolutely no visible pitting yet after over 10 months now..

If you do use tin lug thick and fast and tin your wire, solder it fast. The board is the weakens to heat..
