I wanna make a tiny 5v mod out of a 2 aaa bat box. I have a question as to what the rating needs to be for the 5v mod switch. Ive read generally at least 3 amp? If this is true where can i find the smallest switch possible? Any and all help or info is appreciated. thanx.

I plan on using the TI UCC383TDKTTT-5G3 or UCC383T-5 do either of these have a control pin? i know they are 3 prong and with a control the switch rating isnt as important. So whats the smallest switch i can get away with?

I'm not an electrical engineer but most voltage and atomizer resistance that I've read come out from 1A to 2.8A. So a 3A will keep you on the safe side. The control pin is the switch to open or close the connection between the other two pins, which will conduct that current (1A to 2.8A). So the max amperage/current that a transistor/mosfet can handle should be rated above your max expected point. You should be able to put a much lower rated switch between positive and control pin, since the higher amperage current will not be going through this route. Someone please correct me if I have mistaken something in my recent testing.
