Hey guys, I have been vaping for a couple months now and haven't touched an analog since. In fact they seem gross to me know which is great.

I have converted a few of my friends to it also but am constantly embarrassed by one of them. All he seems to care about is trying to look cool by filling the whole area with vapor. I feel like it is annoying to people and puts a negative impression about vaping. I mean I like a lot of vapor production also but I don't let it slowly pour from my mouth to make a thick cloud or anything...

Anyone else think this?

It is annoying. I only use my cloud machines at home or at my local vape shops. I only use my VTR, ego and now my kayfun/nemmy in public. I try to be courteous to people.

I really don't get too cloudy, unless I'm at the local shop doing a contest or just showing off. For me, the best vape is about getting the most flavor, and I find that I don't need to cloud chase to get that. When I'm out in public and vaping, I try not to disturb anyone that might be around me. Just like when I was on analogs. I never tried to create a big cloud and blow it all around anyone, no reason to do so now.

I always ask when in a non-smoking business. I only use drippers, but I personally hate drawing a lot of attention to myself, so I'm usually taking very small hits and exhaling toward the ground. I would just explain to your friend that even though it's safe, and technically allowed in most places, the majority of people see big clouds and automatically associate it with drugs or something unsafe, which only damages the mass opinion of vaping.

I take two mods with me when out-and-about. I keep my VTR in my back pocket for vaping around people (such as walking/sitting in an open-air shopping center), and have my mech in a holster for when I'm just walking down the street blowing clouds.

I, too, find it highly disrespectful. I don't want to "force" my habit on anyone.

It's not a matter of hiding it from people, but just practicing discretion and common sense. I agree with a statement above that your friend is just looking for attention.

As long as I'm not blowing it in a stranger's face, I have no qualms about vaping in public...even with sub-ohms. Closet vapers annoy the hell out of me, because this is the time that we should be proudly 'coming out' in droves. The majority of us have quit smoking via vaping, and we should be proudly letting everyone know about this wonderful invention, not embarrassed because it is different.

We've tried- I've tried- to be overtly courteous and 'tone down' my vaping in public out of respect. I felt the same as many do: that big shows and big clouds damaged the reputation of vapers in general. Well, we were wrong. All our collective consideration has done is further the mystique surrounding vaping, and allowed the loud-mouthed ANTZ the opportunity to make grand accusations of public health risk relatively unopposed, resulting in these skewed and biased proposals from the FDA. The whole time the majority of vapers have been doing their best to accommodate the general public, the FDA has been listening to the ANTZ and the biased media;it only makes sense for us to reply in kind.

The time has passed for bending over backwards to make others feel comfortable, it's time to vape loud and vape proud.

I treat vaping the same way I treated smoking in public. I am a subohmer, because I like the warmth of the vape and the flavor, and my byproduct is pretty big clouds. I know that not everybody wants to breathe in my vapor produced and I respect that.

I do not vape indoors - Yes it isn't smoking, but people still do not want to have different smells and a cloud of anything wafting over them when in a theatre, restaurant, shopping. It is my hobby/habit not theirs, so I treat them with respect.

I do not blow my vapor toward anybody - Yes I am outside, but I do not blow my vapors towards anybody. Once again, it is my hobby/habit not theirs. Not everybody wants me to share it with them and I respect that.

If someone asks me to not do it around them/their kids, I'll gladly move (provided their request is within reason, if i'm standing in the smoker area on the patio at a bar, and someone asks me not to vape, they can go fly a kite) or wait for them to leave.

It isn't about being ashamed of vaping or any negative feelings towards vaping. It is about respecting other people's space within reason of not infringing over your freedoms.

That is exactly why People cannot smoke in Bars, and or other places anymore, and that will be the reason why Vaping will be sooner or later be banned.

It always takes that one particular group of people who have to mess it up for the rest of the world.

Just my opinion..

I am not sure if you are lumping the subohmers/cloudblowers into "that one particular group" or the disrespectful vapors in "that one particular group"

Smoking was banned in bars and public places, because the smoke infringes upon other people's boundaries. It was the smokers habit, not the 10 other non-smokers habit around them. This is also the reason for vape bans in public places. Not everybody wants to have different smells or any amount of vapor clouds wafting around them if they aren't vapors.

It is about respecting other people's boundaries, and not being ashamed of vaping.

IMO producing large clouds of vapor is pretty cool, however, is that why I am switching to vaping? NO I am switching to get off of one disgusting habit to go to healthier one so vapor production doesnt matter to me. I think the general public will see that cloud and think its real smoke and not want to try vaping.
